  1. Does anyone have load data for using red dot and 230 gr. LRN and Hornady 230 HAP ?
  2. Had 3 lbs of red dot giving to me and I have lots of 124 FMJ RN bullets to load but not sure if I can use red dot or not, can't seem to find load data has anyone used red dot ? How does it meter and how many grains and what oal..? Is it like titegroup? Chevy
  3. I was using Green Dot it was ok and then switched to IMR 4756 and starting load was 6.3 and worked my way up to 6.8 and really liked the 6.5 load as it gave me a nice recoil feel and 5 shots with in 1 1/4 at 25 yards.. The other 7 were at 3 " of centre. Great grouping I must say. That will be my go to load and it is LRN 230 gr. fc 150 primers and O.A.L. Is 1.270. Sig P220 Elite.
  4. Its a new dillon RL550b with dillon dies .
  5. This is what I was going by .. BULLET WEIGHT125 GR. HDY HAP ManufacturerIMR PowderSR 7625 Bullet Diameter.356" C.O.L.1.069" Starting Load Grains3.3 Velocity (ft/s)804 Pressure25,600 PSI Maximum Load Grains3.8 Velocity (ft/s)914 Pressure32,000 PSI I was at the 3.8 and with 1.069 oal with my test loads that did work out as they were the best for accuracy 1 inch at 20 yards. So if I was to go to 1.10 C.O.L. what would a load to start with be 4.0 And work up from there ?
  6. When I did a barrel drop test to get max oal with that bullet it is 1.126 so i do have a little room to play with from what the book says to load 1.069 ..
  7. I tried increasing the bell and it did not work .
  8. Ok thanks I will get another seating stem and try it..thanks again!
  9. Hi Mdlineman , yes maybe you are right about going in croocked what kind of mod did you do to the die? Did you grind the flat part of the face down? Not sure if I should do that.. I even tried the round nose part of the seating die and it did the same thing..
  10. The OAL is 1.069 and the gun is M&P 9 core with 5" barrel .. Like I said a quarter of them don.t fit the rest fit fine in gauge and barrel..its almost like its bulged more to one side during seating or crimping.. Not sure its baffling.. I just loaded 10 more and 4 don't work...
  11. They won't fit the barrel either, its a new rl550b dillon and I loaded up about 500 lead round nose with no problems its just these HAP's I'm having trouble with. You can see where its hitting the gauge and the barrel .
  12. I was loading up some hornady 9mm HAP bullets and some of them won't fit the gauge , what am I doing wrong? It looks like its hitting at the bottom of the bullet bulge.. I colored the case with a felt marker and put it into the gauge and it shows the mark about 1/4 way around the case at the bottom of the bulge.Iwill see if I can post a photo.. Once i size the case it fits good in the gauge then lightly bell it and then seat the bullet and the bulge is there.. The HAP bullets are a .356 dia. After loading 20 bullets there are 8 that dont fit and all the cases are win cases.
  13. Ok thanks everyone I will tumble them just like brass .. Thanks again !!
  14. Do you clean them the same way in a tumbler like the brass cases?what is the best way to clean nickel plated cases?
  15. I never seen any of the nickel ones for sale . Are they just not around at all? Are they cheaper to buy than brass? I think these will last me awhile for sure .
  16. Thanks I will check them and keep a close eye on them as. I load them up... They all have the WIN stamped on them to.
  17. I came across some used once fired 9mm nickel plated cases that our local law enforcement used for training at our range and they just left it on the ground and left so I picked up about 2500 cases. Has anyone ever used them for reloading? Do they reload the same as brass?
