Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Recently I sent my CZ 75 matte stainless steel off to David Milam at CGW. The experience was awesome. I wanted to change the SA/DA CZ to a SAO. Additionally, I was looking for some ghost ring sights. After talking to David we settled on installing his Race Hammer and Billet Sear, SAO trigger with pre and over travel screws and new springs and firing pin. David manufactured a custom ghost ring sight that looks totally factory. I would post a picture but I can't seem to make that work. The front sight got replaced by a red fiber optic one. The matte stainless gun with black grips came back with a black race hammer, black trigger and black sights. It looks better than when factory. The trigger pull is a clean crips 3lbs 3oz. Like glass. The sights are simply awesome. My eyes are aging and I've had trouble with seeing the sights properly. Now I can look at the glowing red front and I still pickup the ghost ring for a clear sight picture. The whole experience was outstanding. David communicates very well and responds to email or phone calls within hours. He calls to discuss work and offers his expertise for combinations that work. The prices for his work are more than reasonable. If anyone needed work done on a CZ, I would definitely recommend CGW. CZ Custom in Arizona also does great work but the experience there depends on who answers the phone. If you get Stuart you'll be okay. He is very helpful and customer oriented. If you get Rob he'll make you feel like you're disturbing him every time. David Milam's customer service is outstanding - you won't regret giving him a try.
  2. Sounds sweet! But if he insists on an Sp-01 I might be willing to buy this one from you
  3. Let me guess, the gun doesn't cycle right? The comp chews up a lot of gas. You'll have to find a load that makes major PF in order to get that working. The Czechmate does the same thing with the comp. Without the comp it'll work fine with any old 9mm range ammo.
  4. I have had my P07 for a while. First off, I really don't like plastic guns. I prefer the old steel guns but, for what it is, the P07 is a very nice pistol. It has a great feel to it (much better then a Glock), grippy texture, large trigger guard to allow gloved operation without problems, nice capacity. It hides much better than a G26/27. I prefer the hammer to the striker fired stuff. A lot of my colleagues don't like guns with hammers - maybe I'm getting old. Sights - well it came with a U-notch rear. I did not like them and replaced the rear with. TAS Sight. Much better. Trigger- very nice trigger out of the box. Swapping the decocker for the manual safety is easy and only takes a few minutes. Holsters- selections are slim. CZ offers some, Zahal has some but most likely you won't be able to walk into a store and find a huge selection (heck, you might not find any) The P09 is the same gun, just in a full size frame. As far as competing with it goes - well that's up to you. My opinion is the P09 will have a longer sight radius but if you also want to CCW it then it's going to be a larger piece to hide. Getting one gun to do everything is a compromise and you'll have to pick what's more important to you. But the gun itself is worth having. Hope it helps.
  5. I have been trying to get one of the Shadow Long Slides from CZ Custom but the delivery dates keep getting pushed back. So for now I ended up with this Czechmate. Awesome gun. I will still get the Shadow Long Slide one day
