  1. I use the Cooper Grips lava rock textured as well. They are awesome but you have to be careful about not over torquing the grip screws.

The texture is the best though and they are cheap ($35) and come in lots of colors.

  2. Cheapest:

    Polish internals

    13# hammer spring

    next level:

    Polish internals

    11.5# hammer spring

extended firing pin and reduced power firing pin spring (need this when you go below 13# hammer spring)

    Reduced power trigger return spring

    Best option:

    Polish internals

11.5# hammer spring (or 8.5# and federals only)

extended firing pin and reduced power firing pin spring

    Reduced power trigger return spring

    CZC Comp Hammer

    CGQ adjustible sear

  3. At 5:30 EDT Optics Planet is showing 4 in stock. If interested you better hurry. Received mine last week. Not yet mounted but so far glass clarity, reticle, etc looks great for the price. Look forward to getting it out to the range!

Optics planet is getting these in and selling them to new customers Instead of shipping them out to the list of people waiting on backorder for months?

WTF? I've been waiting like a good boy and OP is selling them rather than fulfilling backorders?

  4. Are the aluminum frames thicker?

Does this mean the compact models with steel frames would fit? I can see how they may be a bit loose in the muzzle like my cz-75 is in the sp01 holster, but should still fit, correct?

  5. Get the reduced power trigger spring and floating trigger pin from CGW as well. Cheap and good insurance.

Trigger return springs seem to be a common wear item and the CGW is more durable and the floating pin makes swapping them a snap.

I think the CGW type 1 disco is a valuable upgrade and is Idpa and production legal.

  6. My question related to this build is whether that bevel on the mag well is legal for uspsa production, because I would love to do that to my transitional pre b, but don't want to turn it into a limited minor gun. The only mention I see of anything similar is the size restrictions in relation to the magazine itself, but nothing specifically allowing or prohibiting this modification. Does anybody else have a take on whether this is production legal?

I'm curious about this as well.

I assume this would me a gun illegal for IDPA SSP as well. (I know the OP's gun wouldn't be legal in SSP due to the sight cuts in the slide)

  7. I don't know what the 1st one is about, but the 2nd one is about Gordon Carrell's reshoot at the Carolina cup.

There is a thread on doodie about the reshoot and Gordon wrote his side of the story on his website. (google: "Gordon Carrell idpa reshoot")

Don't go to doodie project if you have thin skin.

Anybody know about the 1st incident?

  8. Extended firing pin and reduced power spring. (Come together)

    11.5 lb hammer spring

Reduced power trigger return spring (buy an extra for back up)

    CGW trigger pin

    Type 1 disconnector

    H-pin ( hammer pin)

If you want to spend more and make it the best it can be also buy these:

CZC competition hammer (do not buy the CGW race hammer -not IDPA or production legal)

Adjustible sear (these two can be bought together

    Another hammer pin.

All of this is available from the CGW site.

You will want to buy the starter punch if you don't have one.

Look at this thread for info on where to polish:

I just did all this and I am very happy with the results, a new customer of mine shot it and told me to do one for him just like mine.
