  1. I took it to the range the other day and it shot perfect. In shooting it though I started to notice the differences and think I like the old style better. The hammer is thicker on the front face (firing pin side). Were the old style hammers breaking? The rear sight blade is laid back and to me a little harder to work with. Why did they go away from the LPA? This beavertail is more flat out instead of curled like the old one. What was the issue changing that? My last peeve is a hump at the back of the grip area that sticks into my lower thumb on every shot. I have no idea why they bulged the back out there! Out of those three differences I found, only the rear bulge bothers me and nothing you can do about it.

  2. This pistol has some history. I purchased it used and the sight eventually wasn't holding elevation. I then tried Red Loctite and it would move after I bumped it good. Rather than get a new sight, I put a Henning fixed on it. Solved that problem! It was always a little off for my shooting distance and I wanted another adjustable. It had to be a positive lock design, which this one is. I think the old Super Sight adjustment screw knurling was wore down causing the issue. EAA would only sell a new sight and no parts. You can get all the parts for this one including the screw!

  3. I have a thread here on it too and sent the member a PM that put them on. No response... must be busy. Anyway... I e-mailed the contact I have at Kensight and just so happen to have gotten my response today:

    Hey Jesse,

    Happy New Year!

I’m sorry for the delay but we may be able to help with this one.  Tanfoglio used to use LPA, which makes sense because both manufactures are Italian.  They stopped using LPA and switched to a sight made by SMS.  I don’t know if they changed sight cuts when they changed suppliers.

From the looks of the sight below, they didn’t.  If that’s true, we have several rear sights that will fit.

Please confirm if your sight looks like the one below.  If it does, the drawing for the LPA sight cut is below, please compare the two.  If you need the drawing in metric, I’ll convert it.

I’m pretty confident that our LPA style rear sights will fit.

Also, could you give me the size of the front dovetail?  They are measured from front to the back, at its widest point (the bottom).   If you can’t, I’ll do my best to find out the dimensions for you.

  4.      I didn't have much luck with the Super Sights on my Hunter and went to a Henning fixed unit. If I'm thinking correctly, the Kensight has a different setup to hold elevation (biggest Super Sight issue).

Anyone know what sight cut the Super Sight is to get close on the match?

Would this LPA cut be the one? https://www.midwayusa.com/product/581014/kensight-adjustable-rear-sight-1911-lpa-trt-cut-steel-black-square-blade-fully-serrated
