  1. Bayougump,- I run the new style Caspian 170mm mag in my tanfo with good results. It has the Caspian Quick Change basepad and holds 28 or 29 reloadable (they are weld-ups and vary a little in length). However, be aware that they will most likely will not run out of the box and will need tuning.

I've also seen some weld-ups from mec-gar 38 super mags that seem to work well. The Mecgar weld-ups i saw were using the Caspian quick change base pad, but you could run the henning H-141 base pad. Essentially, both the caspian and henning base pad extend 18mm (IIRC) beyond the mag tube length and both are interchangeable with each other. Be aware that if you are running a henning magwell on your tanfo that the caspian quick change base pad on a 140mm mag will hit the mag well. You can grind some material off the caspian mag so they will fit, but I prefer to use the Henning basepads for the 140mm mags and the caspian for the 170mm.

Now I wanna try a 170 mag. Off to Google "Caspian 170mm mag" and see what I can find...

  2. That doesn't sound bad. I want it on the left side though so I think the mailbox flag will be nice. I'm going to have him make it ride pretty close to the mount/C-More purely for looks, but when playing with the Limcat I noticed how nice it was to have a big handle to grab, and that it cleared my grip. He also pointed out that it is easier when letting someone else shoot it because you don't have to warn them about watching their hands.

  3. Haha! I got a lim pro for a awesome price in 38 super then my open glock was traded for a hunter in 10mm. I was hooked!

I want a 10mm Hunter at some point. Some mag extensions and 19-20 rounds of 10mm?? That just sweet!

I'm now in the midst of switching over to open. I picked up one of the Cheeley 90° mounts just in case I wanted to in the future. Then I bought a EGW Sidewinder because it was on clearance on Midway. Then I was asking a local guy about C-More's and just missed out on the used on in the classifieds here (curse you John!), but the local guy loaned me his backup one to try out. Now I got a local machinist making up a slide racker to look like the Limcat mailbox one (the local guy had a Limcat and I was in love). So this is how my LC is sitting right now...

  4. The Manny Bragg, is it the one for the stock models? What pistol are you using. I don't know why the difference is but the DAA one is different for the stock 3 and all the reg comp frame ones. It looks cool. I had a cr for my glock but never got to use it. I ended up selling it as soon as I finished building it lol. I got the tanfo bug! Haha

I'm shooting a Limited Custom (Sku 500021). The description for the holster says "Tanfoglio Stock" on the website. There is a couple mm of play side to side, but when I've got it in either locked position the gun is NOT coming out. I emailed Manny and asked specifically if the holster would work for mine, and he said yes. Got it in the mail 3 days later.

I had no intention of buying a Tanfo. In fact, I went to buy 140mm mag springs for my Glock from Nealio. Then he me hold a couple of his Tanfos....game over. Glock went on the market and I snatched up the LC that was for sale local.

  5. I don't need a press yet. My father in-law has a nice blue one with all the dies for just about anything I want to reload. But it is on the list. I just go to his house, hang out and load my stuff up.

I said something similar. I load 40 at a buddy's house (3 minutes away) on a nice 1050, but a SDB for 9 in the garage. There has been a few times where I go load 100-200 rounds at 11 PM just because the kids are in bed and I've got nothing else going.

  6. So, I figured I'd rather get it now while I can just in case I decide to go Open later on. I got mine today (thanks for the fast shipping John!!), and had planned to just put it in the safe, but when I opened it, naturally, I had to see how it looked on my pistol. Annnnnnnnnnd now I'm browsing C-Mores hoping to find a smoking deal. Crap.

  7. Aluminum, just adds weight and expense.

Oh, and I prefer the Cheely over the Quinn because it sets the glass further back, but the Quinn has a thumb rest and is readily available...

I was just looking at the Xtreme one linked above, and noticed it sat farther back.

I know I mentioned the thumb rest the other day Atlas, and I'm curious if anybody finds them useful (or a good idea) or a waste.

  8. Let me shoot it some, I may part with some stuff. I ordered 1000 extreme 180 grain plated bullets last night, have 7000 federal primers on the way. Have a couple pounds of tightgroup on hand. Will have to order some .40 dies this week. May be able to shoot it next weekend.

Need recommendations for a holster, and mag setup. Where are you guys buying mag parts and body's?

my recommendation for a holster would be manny bragg holster or the DAA racer master (get the new magnetic insert and consider the muzzle platform too).

for mag pouches DAA racer pouches work really nicely with large frame tanfoglio mags. :)

I second the Manny Bragg holster, and I'm overall pretty happy with the leg pad...even though it left a bruise the first time I used it in a match. I figure that was my fault, and need to adjust it.

Mag pouches, I'm running the Ghost mag pouches (bullets out) and am quite happy with them. Had BladeTech for the Glock, but thought I'd run Ghosts for the Tanfo. I am curious about the SpeedSec mag pouches though, and may have to order a couple.
