  1. Thank you!

But why is 20 rounds with hennings pads a weakness? My glock 35 with dawson pads is only getting 19.....

I was getting 19 in both Dawson and TTI extensions on 5 of my 35 mags, and had one that I could get 20. One mag had an Arredondo follower and it squeezed in 20 and sat fine, but had issues feeding reliably.

  2. Lol, whoops. The holster itself is $224, and the leg pad was $25. Bonus was only $6 for shipping (vs the $24 for shipping the Speedsec 5). I will certainly try to remember in 2 weeks, feel free to send a PM my way.

"Race" holsters are legal in all classes except Production and Single Stack.

If it makes you feel any better, I just bought 1k bullets and 2k pieces of once-fired about 2 weeks before I bought this one. Had to scramble for 9mm bullets since there was a match 5 days after I got it. I've only shot Xtreme 124gr through it so far, but I'm going to give a couple local firemen's bullets a try. Moly-coated lead. Shot pretty nice from my Glock, and a couple other local Tang guys said they shoot them...so why not?

  3. Looks Great! what was the cost if you don't mind me asking? It is legal to shoot in all classes?

Those are factory slide cuts. I was told it was a limited run, and judging by the offers to buy the slide/upper I'd have to say it must be rare.

I'd be at a disadvantage if I shot in Open without the comp and optic, though I'd love the 170mm mags.

  4. Revlnk Tell me about the holster, looks good. Do you have to push that little lever to unhook it?

It is the "Futuristic Magnetic" holster from Universal Shooting Academy (Manny Bragg). http://www.mannyusa.com/Firearms_Training/product/Futuristic_Magnetic.html

I had read somewhere about a "thigh pad" (for an extra $25), but didn't see it on the website anywhere. I emailed in, and got a response within an hour. I was on the fence for a week or two between this and the Speedsec 5, but ultimately decided on this one due to the extra lock position.

    Position 1 (full upright): Unlocked

Position 2 (middle position, points backwards at the 9 o'clock): Locked, but easy to unlock. This is supposed to be for a stage where you start out running; the gun will be locked, but you can easily hit the unlock lever on the draw.

Position 3 (all the way down): Locked. When this is locked, it is LOCKED. Even upside down.

I will say that it has a little play side to side when it is in the holster. I need to play with it a little. Also, when I pulled it out of the shipping box (only thing in a package was the leg pad screws) I spent about 10 minutes with an old toothbrush getting the plastic shavings off. Yes, the black parts are plastic...like you would make on a 3D printer. But, the biggest surprise was Manny shipping it out...and telling me to send in payment for it at my "earliest convenience". Check is written out, waiting to go in the mailbox tomorrow.

  5. I was shooting major, but found this Tanfoglio I had to have and am now shooting minor. I am thinking I'll keep an eye out for a .40 conversion, but I'm having fun with 9mm. First match with it I got better scores on the two classifiers (I still suck though). Just got the new holster yesterday...

  6. I just got my first Tang (Nealio's fault), and it came with a Bladetech. I didn't like the BT with my brick...I mean Glock, and certainly don't want to use it now. Nealio had suggested I check the Manny Bragg, and when doing a google search I saw lots of references to the H&S SpeedSec 5. Anybody had experience with either?
