Im using a 9lb now. Thats the whole question, 9. 10, 11 does it matter? or can practice and lots of it do the job. Just get a gun that runs (all the time) and shoot?
So I am done with the comps now how important are the springs? One gentleman I shoot with cuts springs checks pull on teh hammer and measures this twist that. I have just put in something and if the gun goes BANG Im good. If i were to out the effort into tuning the springs is it important or just as with the comp practice make perfect?
So after looking down the comp again the first 3 are all angled. So the only reason they do the angle is to keep the lens cleaner? I feel it has to affect the lock time and how the gun feels. Has anyone done a side by side? I have shoot different guns side by side angled and straight but on different guns so i cant say for sure.
OK in the first picture you can see the comp is slanted backwards amd in the 2nd the walls are straight up and down. Does that slant help or just snake oil.
Is there any difference in the way a comp performs when the ports are angles towards the back or straight up and down. Comparing a EGW EDM made 4 port to a regular CNC without the angle on the ports.
yeah i tried the search and well lets say im not sure some members have a clue what they are talking about when you read some of this stuff. Not that i know everything but i have learned the advice is worth what you pay for it. the info in this post in correct as i see it but search will get you arm chair shooters thanks for all the input i will keep playing around
i guess what i want is a flat shooting gun....it seems to be powder-bullet-recoil spring-mainspring-comp all play into it where in the heck do you start my choice was the mainspring for some unknown reason...or is it just luck that you get it flat shooting ? thanks
have a 15 in now and the gun wont go bang...i went with the 15 to try and speed the slide up a bit by letting the hammer be lighter less pressure ...i assume i need a long firing pin and a lighter firing pin spring? or just go to the 17 and see what happens? i think there as a 19 before i changed anything? Ideas and i can accept someone telling me im nuts just shoot it with the 19?
