  1. In the beginning when CO was a provisional division having an optic wasn’t a requirement to shoot CO, but that was also when it was still mag capacity limited to 10 and had a weight limit. I’m pretty sure though that some production GM came into a major match and won CO with his production gun and then afterward HQ added the addition rule that you had to have an optic. (I was told that they thought it violated the spirit of the rules and they were worried it would cause problems down the road if not corrected.)

It weird that they would use the regular CZ ring hammer instead of the custom hammer on a fully custom gun. I also wonder what benefit the P-09 mags bring to the table

The P09 mags have better capacity compared to the SP01.

Using the P09 mags would let this pistol be able to swap to 40 and not be at a capacity disadvantage like the SP01.

Good to know, I was actually using a 'modified' CZC extended/rocker safety on my Accu Shadow for Production.

So maybe that was illegal for that time and no-one picked up on  it.  ?   I have since switched to the newly-available S2-styled one which comes on the new SP01 Shadow Orange....

    image.thumb.png.9e9f79f79dddd00f92641368fd4498d0.png

I'm hoping that this is legal.  But as mentioned, in USPSA Production it's really only a thumb rest.  When I use the Accu in ESP/IDPA, I often do start it cocked-n-locked, though.

As Stuart quoted from the rules you can swap out any minor part with an aftermarket one. Thumb safeties are explicitly mentioned as a minor part.

Something to keep in mind is that the gun still has to fit the box. I would test any part your looking to push the limits with in the box before heading to major match to ensure your complying with the rules..

I keep saying it over and over again. Open Major. Open minor. Limited major. Limited 10 minor. Only 4 divisions needed.

+1 on this. Well other than the limited minor 10 part. All we need is Open Major, Open Minor, Limited Major, and Limited Minor.

Thanks. I installed one into a 75 Shadow lower with no fitting needed. So probably just a tolerance from the casting mode.

I did the same thing in a Shadow 1 loser and have had no problems.

I know they are not trendy Merrell makes some nice shoes. Keen, although I do not like the company politics, make some nice shoes if you have wide feet, and both come in a nice prices.

I use a set of Merrel hiking shoes, but just saw that they released the MQM flex with gor-tex. Looks like it might be a good alternative to the Solomons and Inov-8s

So I can take the magwell of my backup 3 gun pistol and use it in production. The stippling had ruled it out.

If you take your magwell off, yes you should be good. As long as you don’t have any frame weights or any milling done to the slide.

The only change I’m going to make is to take the magwell off my G35 I built for limited and run it occasionally in Production.

My G35 is a gen 3 with a double undercut, finger grooves removed, SC grip job, zev trigger, pins, extended mag release and sights.

my only concern is if I will have to take the basepad extensions off, I’m not sure if they will fit the box.

Does even a modest magwell addition automatically move a pistol from ssp to esp.

Zommbbie threaded.......bash it in the head!!!!!!

In all seriousness though, from the IDPA rulebook:

    8.2.1.3 Excluded modifications for SSP

    D. Add-on magazine week opening

8.2.2.2 ESP permitted Features and Modifications

    W. Modification of the magazine well and add-on well extensions

So yes any magwell, even a small “carry” one is prohibited in SSP but is legal in ESP.

Saw DSA was making a titanium slide for Glocks.

Waiting for someone to run off  2,000 tungsten framed/Titanium slide Glock 34’s to rule Production :P

Tungston would be a pain to machine. There is a company that announced a All steel glock frame but it’s like $2,500, so that’s a no for me.

The Gun Collective has a video on the Genesis and that’s gunna be like $1,250.

The only one that looks viable from my standpoint is the Alpha Foxtrott frame that is part steel and part aluminum.

Are they all 9? Can you buy an upper and swap it onto your existing frame? Pretty cool looking!

Im with Rowdy, I would be interested in a stand alone upper. CZC needs to make this new Bull Sport a DA/SA gun, so they can get it approved for Prod. It would be the ultimate setup, plus with a second upper in 40 it could compete in Limited.

  11. For breaking free small screws I’ve heard of people taking a soldering iron and touching it to the screw to heat it up as opposed to using an open flame, like a lighter. The soldering iron better directs the heat were you need it.

As recommended keep the mag release in the frame for leverage purposes.

    Challenge has been to

    1. how to fit RMR on the narrow 75 slide.

    2. offer back up sights.

Here is an option we came up with at CZC.

Using the Trijicon RMR sight plate. You can mount the RMR dot and offer tritium night sights as a back up.

    Looks pretty good too.

Stuart, How is this setup for Carry Optics. I know most don’t have the backup sights but is it obtrusive?

Alos how much does a setup like this cost from CZC?

    you've seen this right?

    shadow2open.jpg

That is one interesting mount. I like it though, aftermarket or one off custom?

What’s the theory on having the dot so far back? improved ejection patterns, balance, or better field of view with the dot?

  14. Looks cool. I’ve always been a fan of open guns with the comp recessed slightly within the frame rail. Quick question though, what kind of clearance are you running between the comp and slide/bushing?

Use a size 83 O ring to dry fire with so the hammer hits the O ring instead of the firing pin.

I only use the o-ring for CZ’s that have a fpb as dry firing causes the fp to constantly slam against the fp retaining roll pin, it can cause deformation to the fp or the fp retaining roll pin to break.

As the TSO doesn’t have a fpb you can dry fire to your hearts content. Just remove any residual factory grease and reapply your preferred lube. Then just go out and shoot it a lot.
