  1. Eric,

We have a Cocker Spaniel that will be thirteen in December. She has had both knees rebuilt and has had a couple of light strokes. We figured she was on the way to doggie heaven. Then my wife found a kitten. She was about 3 months old and she wanted to play. Lady, the cocker, looked at her funny for a few days and then it seemed as if she was a puppy again. She and that cat play all day long chasing each other around the house. I told my wife that we would come home one day and Lady would be laying in the floor dead, but she would have a grin on her face.

I said all that to say that a younger critter to play with will breath new life into an older dog who just needs a play mate.

  2. My son had to pick up our cat at the vet's after boarding for a weekend. She was almost as mad as the cat in the video to hear him tell it. He ended up throwing his hat in the cage to distract her and then grabbed her. (An Intrepid soul he is) Once he got his hands on her, she immediately settled down....but for a moment, he didn't really know if she would or not :surprise:

  3. Every time I part with one of my furry friends, I say I won't have another because I grow weary of burying my friends in the back yard. But, before I know it, there will be another fur-ball running around the house chewing up everything in sight. And It's all because they are such wonderful companions.

I'm sorry about your loss. I hope you find another friend soon.

  4. Another option for the boxes. Cut your PVC pipe to length and using the PVC glue install one 90 degree elbow to each piece of PVC and drill the pipes about half way down their length so you can stake them down if needed. By not glueing the box together as a single unit they can be stored in a small duffle bag and assembled at the range, also makes them easier to take to the range. Just a thought.

Joe, If you will drill them in the corners on the 90's the material is a bit thicker and will stand up to "bubba" and his 4 pound hammer a bit better.

    worked for me

  5. Without drifting the thread too much... Consider what kind of chain you are going to use with that bada$$ lock. I recently had to cut a chain/lock combo off a gate. We had a three foot bolt cutter. The chain was stainless and the bolt cutter wouldn't cut it. We had to cut the lock instead.

It appears that the stainless, although tougher, is not as hard or brittle as most standard or hardened chains. If you look at a standard chain when it is cut with bolt cutters, the last little bit is actually broken rather than cut. The stainless doesn't break, it just get squeezed down to a thinner cross section. You can still cut it with a hacksaw (in a vise or with something holding it) but it's tough.

It's sad to say, but the bolt cutter is the ultimate key. <_<

  7. The good news is you may be within delivery range of Pete the Safe guy. He's out of Troy OH - maybe...but drives all over the region...best $125 I ever spent. ........

I would suggest this as well. Even If you can get several brawny types to help, they typically get in each others way ( I know I usually was in the way)

someone who moves large heavy items for a living will amaze you at how easily they can move your safe anywhere in the house.

  9. My wife got tired of us having to buy a new grill ever few years and we went to Sam's and bought one of the big stainless steel grills they sell there. Ours has three burners with the porcelan coated grills and a side burner. I have had to replace the burners once (yeah, cast iron like everyone elses) but after 10-12 years, it still looks, and cooks like a brand new one.

If I had the bucks, I'd buy the biggest Green Egg made. We have one at work and it is an amazing grill.

  10. Jon,

If the brass is not sitting perpendicular to the shellplate what can be the problem? Is the brass in the other stations leaning too? If so, that might point to an issue with the central screw that holds the shellplate in place. It may be bent or possibly the hole that was drilled in the ram is not straight down in the shaft. Unlikely, but something to check.

You mentioned that after "wiggling" the powder funnel up and down, the press ran well for a couple of hundred rounds. You might want to check to make sure that the powder funnel doesn't have anything under the lip of the funnel causing it not to return to the same spot every time. You may have to disss... disasym.....you know.. take it apart ( I have trouble speling sumtime  ) Anyway, it must be repeatable and free to move.

Probably not your fixes, but just another couple of things to check.
