  1. You could just buy tubes and send them to H&M Metal Processing for nitride or send your existing tubes in for it. Black nitride adds less than .0001" to the surface of the part so it's an awesome coating.

it is probably much cheaper to just to buy the mags already coated.

Oh surely it is, but if somebody wanted coated 9mm mags and didn't want to wait then H&M offers the best salt bath nitride processing around :)

  2. Did the (previously pinned and welded) muzzle device just unscrew without any exceptional amount of torque?

I agree that spot should not have an adverse affect on the accuracy.

It required a little bit of ass as the threads were a little boogered.

  3. Thanks guys, I heard back from Noveske as well and they said the same thing, shouldn't have a real noticeable affect on accuracy but it's a shame he screwed up like that. I'm going to clean up the threads on the lathe and see how the muzzle device screws on when I'm done. Guess it's time to buy a welder and just start doing it myself...

  4. heard from Sig that pre-ordered 1911 Maxs' in 40 S&W should be delivered by the cutoff date of their pistol promo. Nothing yet anyone hear or get theirs yet?

Looks about right, distributors actually have a SKU set up for it now :)

  5. So my normal pin and weld guy is out of the country on vacation so I have this job to another local armorer who said he could do it. It's a Noveske barrel with an AAC Blackout 51T mount. Before I ask him to replace the barrel I want to know if this is purely cosmetic or if it will really affect the accuracy and function of this barrel.

    Thanks!

  6. This reminds me of Star Wars Episode IV when Luke uses the force over the targeting computer. Knowing when to do certain actions based on feel will always be faster than a computer telling you what to do and then reacting to that prompt.

  7. I'm not sure what Brian charges for that, but at some point, when your business has grown enough, you might not need the added expense to sell your products. Purely speculating...

For how reasonable Brian's price is for vendor spots I couldn't see a reason to get rid of it. It's such a nominal price compared to other business expenses that I don't even think about it. I love this place :)

  8. Haha that sounds like an awesome idea! Feel free to send me the match directors information and maybe we can make it a bigger lv.2 match or something ;) Maybe involve a trophy to keep for the year and bragging rights? My mind is thinking of a lot of great ideas now!

Also as a side note, I am back from vacation finally and wanted to announce again that our next Gainesville USPSA match with be this weekend, Sunday July 6th. It is an all classifier match. 5 (maybeee 6) stages for $30! We want to see everyone out there and have fun and put some more classifiers under their belts!

I'll be there with a few other folks :)

  9. I use the Sony HDR AS100V. Amazing camera and what sold me on it was the SteadyShot feature that really eliminates the bouncing or bobbling effect with other action cameras that I've owned.

  10. As far as mag releases go, the STI extended mag button and drilled and tapped mag catch may work well for her. My hands were too big for the one I got so I had to remove it, but it may work well for a lady's hand.

IMO the best SSTK magwell is the techwell TGO with Techwell Alumagrips. If you like your grips you can mod them to fit or use a Dawson ICE which are also popular.

Dawson FO front sights rule the game and we need to know what kind of rear sight cut your slide has. If it's a bomar style cut then you can't beat the kensight :)
