I just shot my first steel challenge this past week with my 627 V-Comp. I was using factory rem 38 specials. I had the same problem with moon clips that just wouldn't go in. Initially we thought it was due to the cylinder getting dirty real quick. But it was actually the rem brass and the inconsistency in it. Out of 500 rounds I bought 50 didn't have the groove at the rim machined in them, others were just too tight in the clips. Once I figured this out, just needed to check they would spin and all was good.

I'll try and get some pictures of how they sit. what mag catches can be used in the Para, so I can buy a spare one to modify

I've done a search and there a couple of old threads about STI mags in a Para. I've picked up a 2nd P18 that has been fitted with a compensator and I'm building it into an open gun, but it only cam with one mag. My other P18 is for IPSC standard and I have some 10 round mags with the 2 Alpha viper bases. I know I can get a Canyon Creek mag catch to get the STI mags to work, but they won't ship to Australia. I've picked up a 10 round STI mag for testing. In the other thread there is mention of welding up the cutout for the mag catch, has anyone that has done this have pictures? What other options are there?
