Rented all three. Looking for things I might have missed or what to look for next time I rent them again. Also anything else I didn't consider when trying decide which one is better for me?
Looking to buy a gun to get into USPSA/IDPA. I haven't been shooting for a long time and I'm not that great at it. Just another hobby that I got into cause of some friends. Anyway I need some help deciding on these three. I've rented all three but not all at the same time but I rented the G34 more than the rest cause it tends to be the better choice. I rented the G34 and the M&P together then the G34 and the XD together. I can't find an XDm to rent so I figure the XD is pretty close as far as feel and performance? Every time I rented them I put 100 rounds through them on a Hill-23 target. 10 rounds per circle. I'm pretty new so my results pretty much don't tell me anything. Sometimes I'll have a nice tight group then I'll be all over the circle and even outside the circle. So on to how they feel in my hand. The Glock is too big for me, at least the Gen 3 is. Actually I wouldn't say it feels too big, just noticeable bigger than the M&P and XD. I have small hands. I can't find a place with a Gen4 in stock at the moment so I can't tell how much better the Gen4 would be in my hands. The M&P and XD feel about the same and a lot better than the Glock. The problem with the M&P and XD is I can't reach the Mag release with my thumb easily. The Glock I can reach it easily . Because I haven't had much time with any of them I don't have a problem with the "Glock Angle" that a lot of people mention.
I live in California so I would have to go through SSE to get all three. G34 Gen4, M&P Pro, and the XDm.
I could save money by buying a on-roster gun like a G34 Gen3, but I rather pay more for a better fitting gun in my hand. There is also the XD Tactical but it's hard to find.
So how do I decide? I'm going to rent them some more. What else should I keep in mind while trying to decide on these?
