This is the reason I do as these are common distances that I shoot and the rare longer shot will still be very close.

I don't see any advantage in not having the bullet hit POA. Don't understand why it wouldn't work for you. So your kind of guessing the POI?

I have a 1911 Colt .40 and have been using colt .40 mags for years in them. They run great.

5.3 grn. of HP-38 with 200 grn SWC. This load has been very accurate in my guns and some friends as well.
