  1. Now I know why you lust after my 105 2.8 Micro VR. Nothing in that is in focus! Then you must give it to me!! NOW!! I need to buy that lens soon!! I really like it!! Here you go: I want the real thing!! NOW!!!
  2. Yeah, I'll get the hunny first... Actually, the 50 only does 1:2 by itself - you need the TC for it to get 1:1. And, the 100 does 1:1... 180 would give you more working distance, but that's a pricey lens... Actually, if I needed something closer up, the MP-E 65 is kind of entertaining, but difficult to use well... Just get the 100!! No loss in Light like with the 50 and the Extender or TC!! The 180 and the MP-E 65 are pricey!! BTW, there was n MP-E65 in Sportsshooter the other day!! Y
  3. Well, I shot it in three different Color versions, but... I can't show them to you yet, until they use them!! This is an agreement I did with them!! Remember , I shot eight Covers while I was there, you have only seen two Fronts and one back! There's more to see, coming soon to a Brownells Catalog near you
  4. Dave is still shooting Canon and doing a great job at it!! So is Patrick Kelly and Patrick Sweeney!! A buddy of mine in OH is switching from Canon to Nikon and he has a ton of Canon gear for sale!!
  5. BTW, the Back Cover is mine too!!

  7. He's in Washington right now, and he's surrounded by Secret Service types... OK, you might have a Point there!! Charging it right now, in fact Cool!! Enjoy!! I only used it a couple of times!! I like that lens a lot, from your work... I need a couple macro primes, myself... Tell you what, I love the new 60/2.8G Micro AF-S, I'm getting it and the 105/2.8G AF-S VR too!! I'm giving my old and well used 60/2.8 to my buddy!! As soon as I get the new one In the Canon line, gt the 100 instead of the 50, with the 1:2 instead of 1:1 on the 50 and the 1.3X on the 1DMKIII, I would like to have more room between me and the subject, the 100 should be the ideal lens for Macro stuff.
  8. No, that would be talking to you on the phone for half an hour yesterday... and being awaken at 12:32am last night by a freakin' political phone call Now that IS Stupid!! I would find that SOB that called you and kick his ASS!! How is that battery working for you?? BTW, this was shot with the D3 with the 60 2.8D Micro Lens.
  9. That would have been TOO EASY!! I might do that sometime though! The best place to do that is the Public range, and that is always being used!! Maybe while they're setting up Area 2 I can do that. They close down the whole range to use the main Public range for a couple of stages.
  10. Rio, yes, East, No You can't see the Superstitions from Rio. I love this location. Thanks to Billy Lagusis for helping me with the Shooting Bench and for allowing me to shoot this at the range.
  11. Not when, Numbnuts!! Where!!! Jeez, all that Mud in Tulsa has dulled your senses
  12. Well, can you?? Needless tosay, I didn't do it in Iowa
  13. Not sure how it would stand up to multiple holes being put in it by the stakes needed to hold walls/foot faults in place. It would also be crazy-expensive for an area the size of USSA. Let's not forget Bullet Holes too!! Sand and The really Fine Gravel!!
  14. Yes, I've seen them up close. Have you noticed that only players and certain officials (and certain media) walk between the ropes (which is the primary turf that's played upon, and most of what you see on TV)?? Look at the designated crossing areas in the fairways - even on a course that's in prime condition, with no rain, those are bare dirt by Friday. They don't let the crowds "follow" on the fairways until the final pairing of the last day for just this reason. And, look at the areas the crowd has been standing in - flattened, bare, torn up turf everywhere, again even in the best of conditions for the grass. I know, I have never shot in the Tulsa Courses, but here in the Valley, with a whole lot less water the situation is different!! Yes, I know, but the courses are made to drains a whole lot less!! My solution?? Sand and Rock!! Then get Knee Pads I agree, the really fine Gravel would be the best solution for this problem, but with about 6-8 inches of sand underneath 3-4inches of Gravel!! It would be costly, but very effective!! I'm not a fan of the Grass, But I like the range and the Area for Travel cost, Hotels, Restaurants, Commute and other incidentals. Agreed!! Grass is not what works for what we do!! You either get Pretty or you get Effective!! We have Pretty, for a little shile, after the match starts, we have......MUD!!
  15. Look, Tulsa has some gigantimus Golf Courses, they get the rain USSA gets, and it doesn't turn to $hit when it rains. USSA can be fixed!!. It only takes time and money!! BTW, Gravel drains very well!! Y Yamil, I know you like Tulsa, but be realistic. The golf courses don't get nearly the foot traffic that the bays at USSA get during a match. There's way more room to walk around on a golf course. And, they drain. I have shot Pro Golf!! have you seen the Thousands of Spectators, Golf Carts and Media Following Tiger Woods though the courses??? Sometimes you don't see them on TV. The media sets up platforms & other useless crap everywhere!! And yes, they DRAIN!! Because they were built to do so!! The reason I mentioned the Golf Course in Tulsa is that if they can make them to drain, so can USSA!!! I honestly couldn't care less where the match takes place, whoever hires me, pays my way, but at the same time I would like to share my opinion, for the sake of the shooters that have to pay their way there!! I know Missoula is a great range, but from where I live, it's about 4 times to fly there than to Tulsa or ST Louis (PASA). GA or FL would have ten times the Weather problems than Tulsa from June 1st to the end of October, Hurricane Season. That would just leave PASA and USSA, Plus Vegas, Reno and I think Albuquerque should be looked at!! I would hope the management at USSA would think that way too!!
  16. Now, that is one SWEEET place!! Weather Rocks in September/October and Albuquerque is a great city!! What Deluge??? It never rains in Albuquerque!! Y Yeah, I can't describe how pretty it is there. It also seems to be a touch cooler there when it's hot in AQ and nowhere near as windy. The folks that run/own the place seem to be very happy to have USPSA shooters holding matches there and have already said they'd do a few things to the bays to make them better for us because the CASA folks don't use the full length where we often do. Oh, the intereting thing is that the bays all slope upwards towards the hills they face, so I'd expect they'd drain reasonably well in anything but a total deluge! R, It never rains in Albuquerque!!

  19. Nope - East Huntingdon has always had gravel range surfaces. Only one stage at the '00 LTD Nationals was on the grass. Without drainage tile or other turf improvements, stone surfaces work best for us in our part of the country. I don't remember very well, I have pictures, but I would have to find them!! Ron is what I would call "Very close to the source" I bet he is, I don;t remember, But I do remember some grass, somewhere. I just don't remember, it's been 8 years!! Y You can see much of the East Huntington range here in this shooters video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2xb7Cn7Fio Thanks Flex, It's been so long, I couldn't remember that much!!
  20. And that is what we ant Gary, good suggestions!! At this time, IMHO, PASA is the only one that doesn't need too much work to make it happen!! As you said the state if IL sucks when it comes to guns, but the PASA Area and Quincy does not, PASA has the Props and the range. How is East Huntington now?? Do they need a lot of work to make it happen?? How about Fredericksburg?? It worked OK in 96 and 97. but those were the days that nationals were 12 or so stages!! Are they big enough to hold a 18-19 Stage match?? Is this the same Reno range he had the 95 Open in?? That place was a freaking Dust Bowl!! Reno is a doable destination. I'm thinking about air travel here too, not driving, I know a bunch of shooters prefer to dive, but I almost always Fly. I don't know abut the GA range, But if they need too much work and creativity, is it worth it?? Like the question asked previously by Charles Bond, who's going to pay for it?? At this time, PASA or USSA are the Cheapest to fly to, that I know of. Hey, How big is Frank Garcia's range?? How about Titusville?? But FL, Like GA, In September, the chance of getting caught in a Hurricane or a Tropical are very high!! If you thought that it sucked at Tulsa this year, try flying all the way to GA or FL and getting stuck there during or after a Tropical Storm or Hurricane!! No Power, No Light, No Gas, Not much food!!!! Yes, I have lived through them and it sucks!! The worst part, no shooting!! Like we have said here countless times, we would love to set the dates for the Nationals with a whole lot of anticipation, but with unstable weather like they have in the east Coast, it's hard to anticipate more than two weeks within the Hurricane Season from June 1st to November?? OK, I'll let the pros, like you to find out the best solution for this issue!!
  21. That is right!! But PASA is a range that you DEFINITELY need a Golf Cart to move around with!! The good thing is that you can easily rent one, like I did in 06!!
  22. mmmmmmm ....yummmm Pork Chop Thursdays AAAAARRRGHHH!!! YUMMY!! Y
  23. I've had over that amount in this area in one day (tropical system moving real slow...). Backyard was 4" underwater for a while... Lower lying areas flooded 32 feet (no joke). That's a lot of water... Like I said before, I don't think anyone (reasonable) is complaining about the fact that it rained. You simply can't help it. There aren't many areas with suitable range space where the Sept/Oct timeframe isn't dicey for one reason or another in this regard (either its rain, or its cold/snow, or...). The problem is simply that the range became fairly unsafe after just one ninth of what PR got on Sunday.... Gary - WS bid is in less than a month... We don't have a year to wait this time around.... If that's the route to go, it'll be a bid for 2014 at the 2011 WS... I would have to agree with Dave!! It sucks, but we might have to wait. Y
  24. And that IS sad!! USSA is the perfect range for a World Shoot!! Y
  25. Both USA and Greece are putting in bids for the next WS in 2011. What do you think our chances are??? Y
