  1. Let me do some math for you, 1/16th is 0.0625", far less than 0.100", as a matter of fact it's 37.75% less! Using your argument, how much more does the X10 stick out than the OEM bushing? The OEM bushing sticks out from the slide too, so what is the amount of difference from the OEM to the X10? Are we down to 1/64th, which is 0.01562"????

You seem to know a lot about it, so what are the numbers? And why are you proposing rules? Are you the DNROI or on the BoD?

    Mountain -----> Molehill

I think there's an open question to the DNROI. Your case needs to be made to him. Arguments on the forum about how insignificant the change is will not change the case. You should plead your case to DNROI about it. It would not hurt your case if more people reached out to him. The DNROI is very responsive. If the DNROI determines that it is legal, he will make his call.

If you feel you are in the right, just shoot it with the new bushing. You don't need the approval of the people here. It's the job of the match officials to catch you. That's why the chrono stages at big matches have all these tools to enforce the rules.

In all honesty, will this bushing really make that much of a difference though?

  2. Funny, I thought I was the only one that was having issues with this. I was shooting at 300 yards and could not tell my hits with the spotting scope unless I walked 300 yards to see the target. After a few trips, this was no fun.

Out of curiosity, what target cameras are people using? I only found one option on Midway USA. I'm not so sure I want to spend on a drone as I think I would spend quite a bit on that hobby.

  3. Does everyone use the hanger that comes with it? Does anyone opt for tek lok attachment instead? I'm looking for pros for the stock belt attachment as I'm interested in trying it on one of my existing bladetech holster.

I have spare tek lok adapters. Can I just attach them without buying the hanger with the tek lok?

  4. Try chamber checking the rounds with your barrel out. If the rounds go in freely and fall out freely, you can rule out the rounds.

My other concern is that you were running a Glock before that. If you picked up the Glock rounds to reload for your Edge, your brass may have a Glock bulge due to the unsupported barrel of the Glock. You can check if this is a problem with the same method above.

To remove the Glock bulge, you would need to resize your brass using a U-die. I had this issue when I first started reloading for my Edge. I picked up an EGW U-die and that solve the problem.

For the record, I load my brass out to 1.180 so I don't think the OAL is a problem.

  5. D'oh! Thanks for the heads up. Looks like sti trigger in my ck grip. You'd think when making the grip they'd have made it with sv triggers in mind.

Well, if they made it for the larger SV triggers, the folks that want a non SV trigger would have tons of play. It's easier to remove material to make it fit than to add material to a grip.

That being said, it would be great if they made some with SV fit although I'm not sure if the margins warrant doing the work to keep two different frame types. Majority of the triggers installed are non SV so it makes business sense.

It probably makes more business sense if SV made triggers that fit the regular grips as SV may sell that many more triggers but that's just me. I guess it makes the SV triggers a bit exclusive.

It's easy enough to fit the SV in the poly grips if you take your time. I've not tried the metal frames though.

  6. I went with 1/2x36 and picked up the JP Comp and Barrel. Prices for those items aren't too bad for a JP parts. For the barrel, you have to factor in the price the color though. If you are ok with the machine finished look, the JP barrel is very competitively priced.

  7. I'm building an AR in 9mm. Primary usage will be plinking but I expect it to see some matches in PCC or Steel matches in the future.

What optics are you using for PCC? I'm considering a red dot like the PA Advanced Micro Dot but wanted to see what other options I should consider before I buy something only to realize it was a mistake.

  8. I don't know if it was just timing or what happened but I ordered from DAA and then my credit card got hacked. Nearly $3000.00 in fraud charges on my card. What a great time of year for my card to get canceled and having to deal with everything.

Just got hit with fraudulent charges today on the same card that I used to make my purchase at DAA. It was for over $2500 all at local stores in Des Moines in rapid succession. I only got notified as I set an alert whenever a purchase over my threshold was reached.

It seems too much like a coincidence that it happened all shopping at the same place unless we also shopped at another place that is the same.

I would advise anyone who made a purchase from DAA to watch their CC purchases.

  9. It sounds like it's a difference in the Tangfo barrel but it looks like Dave will make it right for you. At least I've learned something about the Tangfo. I would like to get one in the future to mess around with in the future especially since the prices have come down.

  10. Strange. I ordered from Dave also. Was the reamer bottoming out?

The throat reamer I received had plenty of cutting left and I could get pretty deep with mine to the point of removing 2/3rd of the rifling from the barrel if I was not careful.

  11. I would send the barrel with a few different rounds. Preferably, send one with the longest dimension you would load.

As for how much to ream, you can measure it. It really depends on the bullet and not necessarily the OAL. I found that I only need to remove very little rifling in the barrel. I did it in small phases. Cut a little and then measure. I usually cut until the round sits at the same depth as a factory round. I then ensure that the round drops free and is not getting stuck in the rifling. It's amazing how little you need to remove.

Once I'm done, clean the barrel and re-assemble. Load up your mag with the dummies and see if there are any issues with feeding.

Just make sure you are using a throat reamer.

  12. I have PM'ed over the years who were both Open shooters with their 9mm Major guns and they had mentioned out on the public forum here that they had a 9mm AR. So the reason I PM'ed them was to ask if they had shot their Open gun's 9mm Major rounds through their AR's. All of them said yes, and all of them said they never ran into any problems with malfunctions.

Thanks. I was on a bus ride home and was curious about whether you can use a 9 major round in a 9mm AR as I'm waiting to complete the assembly for mine. I figure I would stop here first to look and this topic was the first one in the section.

  13. I'm waiting for the "surprise" duty bill.

Package arrived today. It took less than a week with no "surprises".

Great customer service from the folks at Double Alpha.
