  1. Dirtiest---- Old formula Unique followed closely by fffg. Cleanest---VV 3n37 At least that has been my experience with mid velocity (pf 150 -160) loads in 9mm. Thats not major and maybe some of the other powders would work better at higher pressures but at this load level the VV is far above anything I've tryed before. If one wants to talk economy, has anyone ever heard of or tryed Rex powders?
  2. Interesting! I ussually see a slight increase in velocity as the gun heats up (also on very hot days). I've switched powders and the problem went away.
  3. If you are changeing your finger position, a trick that helped me when I switched from production to limited, is to use a bandade on your trigger finger. I used the first joint on the double action, but when I switched guns, I also switched finger positions. I used two bandades to remind myself for a while, one on each side of where I wanted the trigger to be.
  4. I use unique in my ruger, and standard primers.
  5. OK I'm new here, so you guys are talking about making major with 9X19 otherwise known as 9 mm Luger. I shoot a Browning Hi-Power in limited and am experimenting with VV 3n37 with 147 gr plated bullets (I will be when the powder arives, as my dealer is haveing to drive to pick it up). I know that I will not be given major in limited but my hope is to make steel a bit easier to pick up. I shoot at a couple of different clubs, and sometimes the popers are set alittle stiff at both clubs.
