If they are brand new, they will be a lot harder to install. Once you shoot a match or two, the springs will break in and get easier to load.
I have the Taylor Freelance pads (w/ grams follower and spring) and can get 20rds, but unless I need it, I reload to 19.
At first I really had to pound them against the table to get the last three rounds in there. Now I can get 19 fairly easy and just have to bump it for fit the 20th.

Is it common for limited guns to have light strikes with stock springs/firing pin?
I've got a limited and the only modification is a henning flat trigger. All the springs are what came in the gun. I've shot two matches with it and have had a couple light strikes with Winchester primers. I don't think it's the ammo since I check for high primers and have never had an issue shooting 9's or 45's with my 1911s.

We're running version 1.2.18 on Android devices and the match is set up as Steel Challenge. What do I need to change to get the more detailed results? Thanks in advance.

I'd suggest it might be worth emailing henning first and ask if he has any large frames in stock or coming. just cause it's not on his site doesn't always mean he doesn't have it.
Called a few times but never got a hold of anyone. Emailed with no response.

I'd like to get one for my Limited 40. It doesn't look like he has any more large frame magwells available. Is the small magwell the same except for a smaller mag opening? I don't like spending 120 bucks on a magwell I have to modify to work but there aren't many options.

I didn't have to do any filing to get mine to work. Feed okay for the few hundred or so rounds I've shot through them. Fit was tight with a stock magwell but worked okay.

I don't think I'd want to trade the limited safety off yet, but if you just want to sell the safety, let me know.

Where is the best place to find them? I haven't called EAA but based on the comments, I was hoping to find them elsewhere. I looked and I didn't see that Henning carried stock parts. I found them on Eric Graffel's site but wondering if there is any easier place to find them.
Safety off a Stock II would work on a Limited, correct? I've got decent size hands and my support hand hits the Limited's safety. Didn't have that problem with a friend's Stock II so I wanted to swap and see how I liked it.

Can you post a picture of the chamber end of just the barrel? You may need to remove some of the pad on there. I had to do it to my new 6" barrel because it was way off!

Took it out and fired two mags worth through it today and it seemed to run okay.

This is as far as it goes. Doesn't matter if you drop the slide or try to push it forward.
After looking at it further, I think it is fine. Barrel goes back to the breech face and goes into the lugs ok as far as I can tell. It's just not as tight as I anticipated.

Just picked up my limited gun. I noticed the rear slide didn't match the frame well and that the barrel wasn't as tight as I was expecting. I'm wondering if the slide may not be going all the way forward and barrel is not locking up properly. Do these pictures look normal or is something off?

I run them bullet nose out on my SS rig. Same issue with the flat head screws sticking out. The SS pouches come with an extra button head screw that sits flush against the pouch.

Price was the biggest reason, $45 with grams kit compared to $60. Also the Taylor Freelance site specifically said they were for the K40 type mags. Henning's site said the back of the magazine needed to be shaved. Lastly I'm impatient and wanted them soon. Henning sounded busy and might be hard to get a hold of.
Hopefully they work well. They appear to be solid and fit nicely. No previous experience with either.

I Just got K40 mags and Henning's pad/follower/ spring kit, a week ago. I can jam 20 in the mag, but it wouldn't be reloadable. 19 is reloadable. hoping to get 20 in there after the springs take a set. 21 reloadable would be nice, just as stated on Henning's website. It seems that was for the old style mags??
I got my MGWIT40LF mags in today from Greg Cote. I also received basepads from Taylor Freelance with Gram springs and followers. I can load 20 in the mag now. It's pretty tight but has a small amount of give. I'm still waiting on my Limited to arrive at my FFL so I'm not sure if it will be reloadable or not. Hopefully the springs will settle and I can get 21 in eventually. I've only shot SS so I'm not sure how much of advantage having 19 vs 20 vs 21 rounds is.

Is the MGWIT40LF the same magazine as the K40? If I'm reading all the old threads right, I think the mags are the same, just the marking is different for MecGar aftermarket vs EAA OEM.

New to Tanfoglios. Just ordered a Limited 40 tonight. Are the Mec Gar MGWIT40LF 14rd mags the ones to buy to use with Henning pads/gram followers for 21rds? Trying to find them online to purchase and want to make sure I'm getting the right ones. Thanks.

Anyone have a side by side photo of a DAA Racer with a SS insert and a CR Speed Versa with SS insert? I'd like to upgrade my pouches. I currently am using a bladetech double pouch but retention is difficult to control between the two mags and I would like to have more space between my body and the mag. I tried a CR speed with the versa and liked how low the Versa was. I could get my hand on much more of the mag. Researching a bit, the racer seems to get a lot of praise on how smooth it is for retention. They seem like a good design but looking at photos, they seem like they are pretty tall as well. I was wondering how they compare side by side to the versa.

I've used CR speeds, Comp-tacs, Safarilands, and DAA Racers. The safarilands and DAA Racers are my favorite and I'm currently using the racers.
Are you using the SS specific Racer pouches or the standard ones and using the spacer? Why do you prefer the DAA over the CR Speed?
I've been using the blade-tech double pouches but I have them set at almost no tension. If I put any tension on them, it seems like one mag is still free and the other has too much tension.
I'm looking at replacing them with single pouches and am trying to decide between the CR Speed versa pouch w/ SS spacer, the DAA SS specific Racer pouch, or the DAA racer pouch w/ SS spacer. I'm wanting to space them away from my body a bit. Not sure if the DAA SS specific one can be spaced out or not.

To lighten up your trigger.
Springfield uses a TI firing pin and in order to ensure good strikes, they use a heavy mainspring, ~28lbs. Swap the firing pin for a steel one (Ed Brown #826) and and extra power firing pin spring. Then you can use a 19lb mainspring. You also have to swap the mainspring hsg internal parts since they are different for the ILS. I'd just buy a frame rebuild kit (Ed Brown #814-S) It comes with the reduced mainspring and all the other parts you need. Plus you have some spare pins. Once you change the mainspring hsg internals, the ILS no longer works. You can either use the ILS mainspring housing or swap it for a aftermarket of your choice. I initially left the stock ILS housing in for a couple months and never had a problem. I recently swapped if for a S&A. But that was just personal preference. I had no issues using the stock ILS housing with the non-ILS internals.
I would run the ILS housing until you decide what magwell you want to go with. Traditional like the S&A or a big funnel like Techwell or Dawson.

I use 8rd Wilson ETMs with 200gr SWC and have never had any issues.

I just bought the same gun to replace my SA Loaded. Its a great shooter straight out of the box (even better with a Dawson FO front sight).
cindynles, that's a good looking gun. I agree on the Dawson front sight.
I picked mine up in April and have been happy with it. My Wilson ETM's have ran great.

I have the Sig and a Ruger 22/45. Ruger wins hands down. Sig trigger is not smooth and heavy for a 22. Stock sights are poor. I replaced mine with adjustable. Mags are decent but expensive. Also if you let them drop free, the bottom plate likes to start to come off. Accuracy isn't bad but not great either. It's acceptable for A-Zone size targets and typical USPSA distances. Like others have said, Minimags run reliable, bulk pack can be iffy as the gun gets dirty. For practice, it is nice using the same holster and mag pouches as my SS gun. But unless I'm specifically practicing USPSA, I'd rather shoot the Ruger.

Trigger over travel would effect hammer energy? Are you thinking that the sear isn't getting out of the way and could cause drag on the hammer?
