  1. I have bought two sti edge guns new in box,no modifications to them at all. Both still run just like they did the day I first shot them, long ammo factory ammo,it's all the same. I also own a Dawson gun hard chrome which is awesome ....they will work just out of the box!

My experience as well although the brazos deal seems like it is well worth it, I have also bought a couple of 2011 from Dawson. They offer a CRP package which id a good deal as well.

  2. I'll never understand why all the recoil master haters. I ran one for 20k of 40 major, it was flat shooting, and performed flawlessly.

I get the bennies to a conventional setup, it is what I run now. But I don't think it has to be done right away.

Not a hater of recoil master, but after shooting a guide rod gun you can definitely feel the difference of the recoil master. It feels like a two stage process during cycling instead of one continuous motion. I also want to tailor my my recoil to a particular load which the limited spring selection for the RM didn't do well.

  3. Not to hi-jack a thread but I recently bought the new Frankford Arsenal Rotary tumbler and have been very pleased with the results. Not normally a fan of most products from Frankford Arsenal but this tumbler is very nice. It comes with the SS media, has a timer built in, and seems well built. I can get about 1300-1400 .40s cases at a time and I have done about 900-1000 300 blackout cases at a time.

  4. Onagoth;

If you check Youtube (I didn't look at your videos), there's a guy who has a video posted of THREE different shell plate versions. Who knows, there may be more out there than three. There is definitely a problem or there wouldn't be so many darn revisions of the shell plate. Also, as the shell transitions out of the loading area, if it's not totally engaged in the shell plate it will roll over the spring and bend it. From there, the spring is on limited life. It's a poor design, and one of the reasons I sold my LNL.

    *edit*

    Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypEVuCCzv1U

Thanks for the video post it has answered a few questions I had.

  5. Shot my first IDPA match after shooting USPSA for years. Had fun but all the nonsensical rules and equipment had me shaking my head. I used my DA race holster and everyone was cool with it but for the life of me I don't get why it is okay to shoot my Eagle but not my bull barreled Edge. In reality they shoot the same. Pulling the trigger is fun no matter what organization but lighten up on the rules a little!

  6. I went through the same thing and was told by Redding to get the dual ring die. My comment to them was I already paid top dollar for a die and didn't expect to get a response to buy another higher priced die to fix their design flaw. I had a few experiences like this with Redding and have jumped off the Redding bandwagon for pistol dies. Maybe they are the way to go for rifle.

I bought a Lee U Die and never looked back.

Amen, the EGW Lee U die is the only way to go, I use them for all pistol rounds.

  7. Has anyone discussed or shared any experience with a 6" limited class pistol with a bull barrel, classic 6" slide and a standard STI frame?

A custom 6" limited gun that weighs what a 5" gun does is the ticket.

  8. Let's do some math!!!

    $2,040 STI Edge .40

    $125 barrel fitting

    $225 Schuemann Bull .40

    $75 DK hammer

    $30 EGW Sear

    $24 EGW Disconnector

    Soo...now we're at $2,519 and...

There still aren't any holes in the slide!

    Figure another $150 for that.

    $2,669, not including shipping.

We'll call it an even $2,700.

That is well within custom gun territory.

+1 just get ready to wait for 8-12 months while the custom builder finally gets to your gun.
