  1. I bought a couple of the Apache 3800s from harbor freight...certainly not pelican cases, but on sale for $30, they're lockable and seen decent. I haven't flown or traveled with one yet but don't see any reason for issues.

  2. Typical start with a big stick and 3 140s on my belt. Some stages will require a q

140 start and a reload to the big stick. I always have 2 170s and 4 140s in my range bag, plus extra parts. I have shot with guys who only run 170s...

I had a GM advise me to let my thumb drag up the side of the gun as I started my draw. It insures that your hand is in the same position every time as you grab the gun.  Seems to work fairly well for a "hands relaxed at sides" start.

I rest my forearm in the same position on the grip and kind of slide up that way...same idea, starting in the same position each and every time...

buy once cry once...  I started on a 650 and moved to a 1050...

I wish i would have bought a 1050 first.. especially if you are already and experienced reloader  get the 1050 if you can afford it.

I agree. I started with a 650 and used it for several years, maybe 20k rounds on it...They are a great machine, I bought an RL1050 pretty cheap from a friend and wish I would have started there. No more sorting NATO 9 brass and if you are loading .223 you'll save a ton of time swaging...

bought a Staccato last month, had some probs with FTF so I called STI. Told me it might be breakin so I shot a few hundred more rounds and had a couple more of FTF.so I called STI,very helpful and understanding,so I sent it back to them.Guess what, they sent me a brand new Staccato, better finish upgrade, new bag and extra mags.Ive had a Trojan for 5-6 years .probably 1000 rounds  with no probs.Decided to try the Staccato cause Ive been carrying a P-365 and XDS.always been a 1911 fan but over the years ive shied away due to living on the coast and my internal parts rusting.also the Staccato is SOOOO LIGHT.very accurate and feels awesome.it is going to be my EDC.I cant say enuf for the service at STI. dont know what you guys are hearing but I Own 2 and their customer service is off the charts.thanks to STI

Thanks for the info, I'll be placing an order on one this week...
