Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I recently "unretired" my Springfield P9 and took it to the range and realized why it was retired in the first place...that thing bites the web of my hand something fierce! Any recommendations for an alternate hammer?
  2. Any one know of a holster that will fit (and retain) both the round and square trigger guard profiles? Working on fixing up the square gun for carry optics and would like to use the same rig.

    Schuemann Hybrid Barrel

I did...didn't you see that dang precision gunsmithing tool?? Seriously, it was a shop out here in Denver. The name escapes me at the moment as it was done quite a while ago. Finally got around to test firing and I have successfully mad a single shot pistol. When I put this together, I just used factory spring rates. Looks like I need to experiment with springs to get it functioning proper. And so it goes...
  4. I shot my first match and placed second in Production Division...granted there were only two folks (including myself) in that division but it sounds a lot better than saying I placed last!

    Schuemann Hybrid Barrel

Necro-post time!! This thing has been back burnered for so long that I thought I had traded off all of the parts. Lone Wolf slide milled for hybrid barrel and Gen 4 MOS plates on a Polymer 80 frame. Only Glock parts on it are a minus (-) connector and the MOS plates. No actual Glocks were hurt putting this together! Function tests fine, should be test firing later this week.
  6. I have an older small frame Witness (circa '91) that I am trying to put back into service and it seems to be missing a part or two from the safety...the tombstone looking deal and the spring (see pic stolen from the 'net). Anyone know where to find the parts?? I have tried the usual sources - EAA, Numrich, etc with no luck. Heck, I cannot even find a parts diagram that has this particular safety version! Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, MDH

    Schuemann Hybrid Barrel

Barrel is already ported and dovetailed for a front sight. I'm about 95% sure it is a Schuemann, perhaps I should have described it as Schuemann like (Schuemannesque)? MDH
  9. I recently rediscovered a Schuemann Hybrid barrel for a Gen 3 G19 in my box of Glock things...any recommendations on where to send a slide to be milled for it? Just looking to build up a "FUN" gun not for any specific type on competition...although if I happen to stumble upon a class for it... Thanks, MDH
  10. So, I was finally able to search through the safe to see if I can get this project moving, and guess what? No extra compact (or any for that matter) small frame slide hanging about! Not going to let that hold me up...much. What I would like to do is to take this: and turn it into this: Question for the super knowledgeable...does an "extended" compact barrel exist?? I know, I know..and extended compact barrel would just be a standard sized barrel, right? Maybe, maybe not. Comparing a standard size barrel (top) to the compact barrel (bottom) shows a difference in the lugs. Sharp eyed readers will notice that this is indeed a Mod GT41, chambered in the ultra cool .41EA. I picked this up for a cool c-note a while ago hoping the kit still had the 9mm barrel (un)fortunately it did not, so here I am trying to turn a sow's ear into well, hopefully not another sow's ear! If anyone has an extra complete upper they would be willing to part with, let me know As always, thanks for the advice. MDH
  11. So, I found myself in possession of a couple of small frame DA/SA Witnesses with slide mounted safeties and was considering the possibility of converting them over to Double Action Only (DOA). Any reason why this cannot or should not be done? It should be just a matter of mating the frame to the appropriate slide and then have a bit of internal magic done on them...right? I know, I know, a bit over simplified! Can the trigger pull be made reasonably lighweightish and smooth? Some of you may be wondering "WHY", so here goes: 1. I am not the biggest fame of slide mounted safeties, so why not?!? 2. I am a big fan of DAO Berettas (92/96D) and shoot them reasonably well inspite of the longish trigger pull. 3. I have an extra small frame .40 cal upper in the safe (hopefully, otherwise the begging will commence shortly!) 4. I am a glutton for punishment and just want to be different! Seriously though, any reason why this should not be done? CZ had a CZ75 that was DAO, so why not have a DAO Witness!! I am not looking at getting this done for any specific division or discipline, just for some local fun comps and to be cool! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, MDH
  12. I happened upon an early 90's Tanfoglio at a ridiculous price and am looking at possibly having it built into a gun for steel. Just one issue to start with...it is a traditional DA/SA with a slide mounted safety. Now, I have no real issue with this (I consider myself a Beretta guy, BLASPHEMY!); but was wonding if it would be possible to convert this to a frame safety with just parts (and slide) swapping or is there more to it than that..? Pics to follow...
