I am wondering what everyone's opinion is on triggers. My limited gun has a curved trigger and the open gun that I have been shooting for a couple years has a flat trigger. I am finally in the finishing stages of building my own open gun and I put a flat trigger in it. However, I am really thinking of a curved. For the people that have a strong opinion one way or the other what is reasoning for it?

Would anyone who has used the xylan mags say that they are worth the extra money? I just built a new open gun and am going to be buying all new magazines. I am very interested in the xylans if they hold up better and do not have any jamming issues. I built my pistol with a CK arms steel grip if that makes a difference.

Steve Anderson’s first book and podcasts have been my focus for the last three weeks. I started match mode yesterday. But today being the first time I got to live fire was when I realized I had a problem. I should be able to live fire and will definitely be dry during every day till the match.

Yeah. i have been doing 80% if my dry fire as fast as I possibly can with the last 20% as fast as I can shoot with exceptable sight picture. But I didn’t notice how much the sight was moving and jerking when doing it.

I have been for three weeks now practicing dry fire drills for 30 minutes to 2 hours 5-6 days a week. I have greatly improved my times, transitions, movements, and ability to find my sight. This is in preparation for ProAm next weekend. However, I discovered during live fire today that I have destroyed my accuracy due to the fact that I am no mashing the trigger with my whole hand instead of a nice pull with just my finger. Anyone have any drills or advice to help this. I can get back to hitting the targets but I have to slow way way down. Thanks in advance!!!

I had money saved up to take a class with Max but after emailing him several times with no answer on a price or class availability or anything I had something come up and now I am back to saving again. Once I get the money again if I can’t get him to respond I’ll give up on him and see if I can get into one of Ben’s classes.

I have a lot to work on and I know that. I am a C open shooter. Finally at nationals last year shot calling clicked. And I have finally realized the importance of staging a stage instead of just spending 30 seconds to find all the targets and be done. However when I watch video of myself compared to even other C class shooters my time between shots is extremely slow. Even on close shots when I am only seeing the sites once and pulling the trigger twice I will shoot two A’s most of the time and It feels fast. But when I look it isn’t. Not even close. What can I do to improve the speed of my trigger? I feel as though I’m pulling the trigger all out.

Thank you. That might be an option later but for right now that is a bit far. I am located halfway between Memphis and St. Louis. About three hours from each. So I am looking for somewhere in that range.

I am about to build an open gun. I have all the parts for it but have really been considering a PT Evo Grip. I love the look of them and have liked the feel of steel grips that I have gotten to handle in the past. However, I have never shot a steel grip or handled the PT Evo at all. I am wanting to know if there is anyone within a couple hours of southeast Missouri that has a pistol with the PT Evo on it that would be willing to allow me to meet them to get a feel for the grip? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I just put Grams followers in my STI Executive .40 mags and was having the same problem. I used a medium file and took a little off the left front of the follower and the smoothed it up and they all work great now. It just took some time of try and retry.
Flat or curved trigger

I was looking at the medium flat from atlas or a long curved. The open gun that I have been shooting has a medium flat and my limited has a short curved. I definitely like the position of the medium better but I cannot tell you if curved vs flat makes a difference. Or if it is just how far out the trigger is. The one I put in my new build is a long flat. But it wont be done for a week or so more.
