  1. Sorry to tell you guys but TSA can do anything they want. I have a few friends who work as TSA. I referred to one good friend on firearm protocol when I flew out. There is an initial inspection. If you lock it with a non TSA lock, the second screening X-ray could give them cause to go in. They have free reign. They will cut the locks. I had that happen on a pie e of luggage not firearm related. TSA locks will keep out prying eyes of baggage handlers. The thefts are more than likely sticky fingers from people at baggage claim.

I remember growing up in LA, the LAX airport would check baggage with your claim ticket. But they don't do that anymore. There is nothing to stop them.

  2. Welcome. I'm in Rockland too. Just shot the West Point 2-gun match last weekend. Go up to the clerks office and get that pistol permit in. It'll take 4-6 months, so best to go get the process started.

Sweet, I didn't know about the 2 gun match. My friends went though. You might have seen them.

  3. In that case, shoot in Open Division and load up the KSG to maximum capacity. On many stages you will not have to reload at all.

Have fun, and welcome to the madness

    Thanks.

I have been looking into the FNH 3Gun match rules and Tac ops or Tac limited says no more than 9 loaded at the beginning of the stage. Other than that it doesnt say I cant load more after the start.

  4. So I joined my local shooting club, NWRA-NY. Since moving to NY state, I sold my pistol (Glock 21) so I would be legal in NY. Im working on my Pistol license but no guarantees I will get one. In the meantime I have been participating in our monthly Action Pistol matches with my KRISS Vector carbine. (No SBR allowed in NY state)

We also have a action shotgun every other month. But sadly no Action carbine like with an AR-15. Many of the USPSA matches that I have found near me are hesitant against me shooting a carbine even the KRISS Vector which is a .45acp I just want to experience new stages with more variety. Our matches are pleasant enough but very limited due to the range.

I suppose the answer is really up to the people holding the matches, but have you guys experienced matches that allow the use of carbines even if it is a pistol caliber carbine?

  5. I dont know about JFK, But last October my wife and I got married in Henderson, NV. It is near Las Vegas. It is where my parents live. We live in NY. Anyway I had my best man setup my bachelor party as an outing to a full auto range and we got a party plan of 5 full auto guns to shoot.

Anyway I brought my KRISS Vector and Keltec Sub2000 along for the ride. I followed the airline's protocol (Delta Airlines). I flew out of Westchester County Airport. After my arrival at McCarran Int'l Airport in Vegas I went to claim my luggage. Delta Airlines holds onto your firearm until AFTER everyone has claimed their luggage. Then they personally hand carry your firearm to you. I asked why this was, and they said it is due to thefts in the past. This way they can be absolutely sure that only the appropriate owner gets his or her luggage back. With regards to something sensitive like a firearm.

When I returned to Westchester Airport the airline baggage handler's repeated the process.

  6. My friends from the NWRA recommended this site.

I have begun shooting in local matches held by the NWRA and joined the NWRA club. I started my firearm interests when I was living in Pittsburgh, PA. I have a KRISS Vector Carbine and recently finished building my Dissapator PSA AR-15 and got myself a Keltec shotgun. Im looking to find places where I can shoot them. Not boring stagnant ranges but interactive targets that require movement.

I have yet to get me Pistol License so no pistol shooting for me. Which is sad since I really suck at pistol. Oh well. I am having a blast shooting my KRISS at local pistol matches and look forward to utilizing the KSG in action shotgun matches.

  7. Yeah the KSG and fast reloads are not sympatico. Here is a video I shot last Sunday. Bear with my noobness as I haven't shot or manipulated a pump shotgun in probably over 15 years. I only used semis and that was over 10 years ago. I think I shot a pump once in the Boy Scouts haha.

Also I dont have my shells set up properly. They are just all dumped into a dump pouch on my weakside.

I did some action shotgun with my club back in November.

    I used the club's 1187 semi auto.

    hmm cant post links yet.

Well since the KSG has two tubes of 7, I dont see why I couldnt use it. Not like I get a disticnt advantage, other than having an extra tube of shells. But if I only load up 7 rounds, I should be good. Im more interested in using the KSG in an active shooting setup like a multi gun match, than worrying about my score and whether or not I can compete. I just want to have fun and just want to use the KSG in something other than Trap/skeet or sporting clays.

  8. I don't see any issues but if you are in Tac Ops or Limited, you will still be limited to certain round counts. It might make a good HM SG but I'm not sure of the limitation in that division.

    Welcome to the forum!!

thanks. HM Shotgun? What does that mean? Are Tac Ops and Limited set the limits to how many rounds you start with? or is there a max capacity that you cannot exceed?
