  1. I wasn't sure how to phrase this. Basically if I am on a square range with all the time in the world my groups shoot POA no problem. I am not that accurate in general, I can get a decent group at 15 yards and at 25 yards I can get all of them on an A4 sheet of paper so I need to work on that for sure but the gun shoots POA so I know the sights are adjusted correctly. However in a match when the buzzer goes off I shoot low. I thought "Well hell I'll just aim higher." but that's not fixing anything. I aim for the top part of the A zone and sometimes I will get lucky and get them both in the A zone, sometimes I will get one in the A zone and then one in the C and sometimes I will get two right next to each other in the C zone. What am I doing and how do I stop it?
  2. I'll give that a check. I have no idea how to take the extractor out though. I forgot to mention that I have hat cam video of my shooting last night where I had like 6 of these FTFs if anyone thinks that would help I can upload and post a link.
  3. The Glock thing has been on and off again for over a year and is stove piping and erratic ejection patterns and has happened with many different brands of ammo. It is likely unrelated.
  4. After years and years of flawless pistol function across the board in all of my guns I am now apparently the typhoid mary of 9mm's because not only does my Glock not entirely function my CZ-75BD doesn't either. Bummer. It just started happening recently where the gun fails to feed. I haven't had it happen while standing on a static range, it has only happened shooting two smaller IDPA matches. Last night it happened 5 or 6 times. The last time strangely the slide wouldn't move, I assumed mag had it jammed up so I dropped mag slide still wouldn't budge so I pulled the trigger and shot the target, inserted new mag, racked it then. What could be going on? Some other facts to help figure this out: CZ-75BD Purchased in May 2010 I am the first and only owner of the gun Has maybe 2600 rounds down it. Aside from the VZ frag grips it is entirely stock as it was shipped from the factory. The ammo in question used on both days was 147 gr Freedom Munitions Reman The rounds that didn't feed were noted, taken to the static range and then shot through the gun without issue. Comparing it to other people's ammo it didn't seem to have any obvious defects. It has happened with at least 3 different magazines now I recently switched to frog lube, using the paste as suggested (heat the gun with hair dryer, apply paste etc) One of the guys there is a CZ fanatic and suggested the chamber was dirty but after inspecting it he said while it was dirty it didn't seem to be dirty enough to warrant the problem. He then suggested that my recoil spring seemed a bit weak. It is the factory spring. I'm going to give it a thorough cleaning before using it again and look into a new recoil spring for it. Any other suggestions?
  5. I was going to buy only 17 rounders but I couldn't find any of the 17 round mags in stock anywhere so I said screw it and ordered some of the 15 round mags just to have something to use in matches. Aside from some Dawson sights and grip tape it is stock and I intend to keep it that way. Not that anyone makes anything for them anyway.
  6. Thank you. The glitter black strap bothers some people which I kind of like. Part of me wishes I got the two tone model because I thnk the stainless would look good with the blue but oh well.
  7. Anyone know if the PPQ M2 5" will fit in the box with the 17 round mags in the gun? I just got a PPQ and I think I'm going to shoot it in SSP in some matches and while I know I'm going to be loading it up to 10 rounds max anyway the 17 roudners are almost the same price so all other things being equal I'd rather have the bigger mags if they will fit.
  8. A little blue magwell action here. This is the 45acp 5.25 model I use as my CDP gun. I love this magwell. I can't wait to use it next week for Tuesday night pistol and then Washington State IDPA match saturday.
  9. Hmmm suddenly my idea for a XDm limited gun is making more and more sense.
  10. I've heard some reviewers say you can swap the mag release to the other side of the gun but I can't figure out how so am I being dense or are these people mistaken?
  11. 3rd time. And the first time anyone ever told me they wouldn't charge me for it. They got back to me yesterday and I will have to pay to ship it.
  12. I just ordered one for my XDM 5.25 45 model. I probably should have asked before but will it work with the small back strap once I file it down flush? Side note: Thank you for offering a CDP magwell for the 45 model. I've been waiting for one for a while.
  13. So no other mag wells exist?
  14. It's in Glock's best interest to help you than have folks question their products reliability. Give them a call. I emailed them today. I don't entirely see how it's in their best interest to give a crap about me with a gun that is long past it's warranty date when they are selling milions and millions of guns to everyone else but I emailed them anyway. You're kidding..right! There is no doubt they will look at the gun. Be prepared that when returned it will have all factory parts and your third party stuff will be in a bag. Also be prepared that many issues like this one result in a diagnosis that the shooter is at fault. That does not sit well with all owners (and it probably isn't always correct) but at least you know they could not reproduce the problem. Oh I had no doubt that they would look a the gun but I expect if they find something they'd want me to pay for it with it being out of warranty... which is part of the reason I was thinking of just sending it somewhere to make it custom... ie I could going to spend money to ship it Glock who might fix it or might tell me "Can't reproduce it." or I can ship it to a shop that will work it all up and turn it into a nice USPSA Limited & IDPA ESP gun and hope it fixes it.
  15. Are there any magwells out there that will allow you to use the 16 round mec gar mags? I already have a bunch of those and a bunch of the meg car 19 rounders but the 19 round mags are not IDPA legal, I'd like to make it ESP legal if I could.

  17. Mmm I guess I might just buy the 75 SA that's selling locally then.
  18. Well If IDPA gives you grief about short colt, will they allow a 9mm conversion? Well the only reason I didn't want to buy the 986 was that A) It comes with a lock and I can't shoot it in IDPA. I thought I couldn't shoot it in IDPA because it has 7 rounds and a 5" barrel but apprently I can't shoot it in IDPA because bulet diameter and power factor (I'd forgot that ESR had a higher power factor) too so that means if I just want a 9mm revolver (which I kind of do) then I'll just get the 986. That being said knowing I can't shoot it in IDPA made it drop from "Gonna buy soon" to "Gonna buy eventually when I can get a good deal on it."
  19. I was having problems with American Eagle too.
  20. There is a dealer locally selling the 75 B SA for like $570 which seems like a good price. I currently ahve a 75 BD which I like well enough but since I've been shooting it in limited I've been really thinking I'd like to be able to swap the mag release and that a SA gun might be a bit better suited... and well to tell the truth moar CZ. So I checked out Cz Custom to see about mag wells, sights etc when I saw the 75 Shadow SA which has me wondering, is that maybe the better route to go? Are those upgrades worth it? It should be noted I am a solid middle of the road C Class shooter. For the record I know the Tactical Sport is probabaly the better limited gun but I have lots and lots of CZ mags already and don't want to have to buy brand new mags.
  21. It might be but it doesn't help with my desire to keep the number of calibers I shoot down. I still might do it just for the f*#k of it but honestly if I can't shoot it in IDPA then the new S&W 986 looks damn appealing all of a sudden.
  22. I didn't think they'd do anything. The gun is over 4 years old at this point. I don't reload, mostly I've been shooting Freedom Munitions mostly 147gr. Occasionally I snag a box from the store in whatever they have, American Eagle 125, WWB 115gr, etc. I shot it in a match yesterday with the Freedom. Ran fine for 6 stages on stage 7 it stove piped twice in one string of fire.
  23. bummer. Thanks for the info guys. I guess if I wanted to do this it would be only for shits and giggles and nothing else then.
  24. I've been thinking about picking up an old Smith like a model 64 or something or maybe a used Ruger Gp100 and sending it off to a smith to get converted to shoot 9mm from moon clips so I can have an ESR gun that isn't the 625. I mean I know I can get a 38 special gun to use moon clips but I would like to keep my caliber selection down and also I kind of like the idea of being different. So I guess my quesiton is how hard is it to take a gun in 38/357 and have it rebarreled and re chambered for 9mm? Do people make 6 shot 9mm moon clips? And more importantly assuming any of this is doable who would do it? Who is the go to guy for revolver work?
