Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Am stages should have targets at 200 yards max. Most shooters were struggling with the few we had at that distance and I missed everything beyond 140 yards with my 1x red dot. I knew I was handicapped with my scope going in. On the other hand, I hosed everything under 50 yards. I was there to have fun and shoot challenging stages which I did... I'll be there next year hoping the weather cooperates a bit. My one suggestion regarding Am prize table is to publish the random drawing order 30 minutes prior. Then call the shooters by name and number. This way you don't have to stand there for two hours with no clue when/if you'll be called. This relieves tension and allows for unhurried bathroom breaks, Frank A.
  2. Yes, practice range is very much needed throughout the match. It would have been nice for them to leave us some 4 target stands and more than one steel plate back there. Maybe next time they can accommodate this and possibly even provide steel flashers at 100, 150 and 200 yards.
  3. Thanks again to my new friends on Am squad #11. Everyone shot Tactical Optics. I think we all shot a great match and ended up ranked where we deserved although some of us crashed and burned on at least one stage. We all had a great time. Rank Name 22 Scott K 42 Damon Allen C 49 Tom Y 54 Ryan D 79 Hardy U 80 Justin S 82 Kenneth D 92 Brad D 103 Robert B 105 John W 113 Frank A 126 Jim C 144 Iain C 173 Todd B 219 Steve E https://practiscore.com/results.php?uuid=7B063B2D-D102-414C-B98E-240C979FC086&page=matchTactical_Optics
  4. Besides Jesse coming in #3 in Pro TO and picking up a sweet rifle can anyone give us a summary of how it all ended on Sunday?
  5. And here's my last picture with a pro shooter. My "shooting buddy" Todd Jarrett...
  6. Great company on Am squad #11. I hope to have another opportunity to shoot again with any one of you in the near future.
  7. Thanks to the Rockcastle match organizers, staff, RO's and sponsors for a great match and excellent Am prize table. I picked up a cool CMC trigger and a couple of nice gift certificates even though I was called over 1 hour into the random prize table drawing. Definitively worth waiting in the rain for.
  8. Bumped into "my pal" Jerry Miculek this morning... Did a Pro clinic with "my new pals" Greg Jordan and Tommy Thacker. Good times...
  9. Yes, I went to the pistol bay area (AM #7) this morning where they did the briefing at 7:25 AM and were shooting by 7:35 AM. Same for the Pro stage next to it. I'm planning to get there at 7:15 AM so I don't have to hustle getting my belt on and gear ready.
  10. Folks, the stage map is a joke. I tried to drive to Am stage 4 from the lodge and it took me 30 minutes to find the correct location. Still never found Am #6. Note: for Am #4 and #5 turn into the dirt road next to the red barn. NOT on the paved road with houses as shown on the map.
  11. IainC, it was great meeting you today and nice to be on the same AM squad (#11). Hopefully some other folks from the forum will come over to say hi during the day. Folks, Not sure if y'all are meeting at the lodge tonight for bubbly beverages? Although I prefer lime drinks with mexican fire water. Frank A.
