  1. This is all so unfortunate. I can't imagine how Eva must be feeling. An Area Match win is a BIG DEAL, for anyone, Match Winner, Division Winners, Class Winners, Special Category Winners. It's a huge honor and should be celebrated! It's the next biggest achievement to our USPSA Nationals, and to have it clouded with controversy is very sad. I also fall into the special category of "Lady". I have never verified that info at registration at any match I've ever attended, but will from now on ; ) Upon registering for Area-2, I checked my label on the outside of my envelope, verified Production, Minor, B Class, but special categories were not indicated. I saw my squad number and looked at the squad schedule in the book. I did not even think to check / verify my special category on the squad list. When stage results were posted, I verified my stages. Interim stage results do NOT list special categories. I saw no problems, just as Eva saw no problems with her stages. If interim overall results had been posted prior to the awards ceremony, this could have immediately been caught. In my opinion, match organizers really need to post overalls as a part of the one-hour review - that includes the USPSA Nationals (I know, an entirely different thread). Results do not need to be a secret. This also assists shooters with knowing when they will be called up to the awards podium / prize table, so they can put their beer down on time! An error was made. It should have been fixed at the match when brought to attention, embarrassing as it may have been for the organizers. We're all human, we all make mistakes. They have publicly attempted to make it right. The match was a huge success: Great stages; courteous, professional ROs; efficient registration & stats personnel; everything ran on time; and they have the hardest-working behind-the-scenes crew I've ever seen. I know for fact that this was a trying year for the Area-2 organizers, yet the match went off without any indication of this. I certainly hope the 2009 Area-2 will be remembered for all of the positives! In retrospect, I'm just glad they got Rob's win in Limited correct! Had something gone wrong with that, Rob would have brought the entire ceremony to a screeching halt ... it would not have been pretty! ; ) Eva - Congratulations on your Area-2 High Lady win and on your 24th overall finish! You shot an amazing match!
  2. Hi all ... just wanted to publicly congratulate Dave and Jessie on their National Championship Titles! I was unable to see Dave shoot, but Jessie was in the ladies squad with me and she was a joy to watch! She put in an awesome performance and walked away, quite easily, with her first USPSA National Title. I also need to thank them both again (just one more time) for providing me with match ammo at the last minute. I found out on the way to the airport on Saturday that FedEx had lost my match ammunition. I called Dave, who was also on his way to the airport, and he was able to get in touch with Jessie and Billy to ask them to bring more ammo. They had not yet left and were kind enough to throw in an extra 500 rounds. I was instantly relieved and the Atlanta Arms ammo worked like a charm! Honestly, this is one of the best things about our sport ... the great people and their willingness to help fellow competitors! Hats off to Team Glock (from Team Springfield)! Kippi
  3. Hi everyone, Keith just e-mailed me stating that there was a little confusion about Rob's DrillMaster Shooting Club categories. I've changed the equipment categories page intro to the following to hopefully minimize any misunderstanding: The DrillMaster Shooting Club™ categories of equipment are listed below. We are allowing ALL of the major disciplines (IDPA, IPSC, NRA, USPSA) as well as adding a few new categories under the DMSC discipline. Sorry for any confusion! Kip
