  1. Another variable to concider is where in the barrel the squib is lodged.

If the base of the squid is incontact with the chambered live round there may be no damage to the barrel.

Seen that one once at a match. First round went bang one hole in the target then click... rack a fresh round in and it didn't chamber. Tried again and the round chambered and bang. 3 40 caliber holes in the target. After someone pointed out the 3 holes two shot fired we had a close look at the barrel and no damage.

  2. One is good.... Two are better.... There is no such thing as too many.

With that in mind get one of each. Then block the SV web site on your PC and forget about the order. Next thing you know you will be picking up both and you will have a different dilemma... which one are you taking to the range.

  3. I have an older STI 2011 that at one time was a 38 super steel gun. Many years ago the comp flew off and I put it in the back of the safe and more or less forgot about it. I am now going to get a new top end in 9mm. The question is... should I build it into a 5 inch sight tracker of perhaps a 6 inch sight tracker. What do you guys think?

  4. I hope I can post this here. If not MODs please move this to were it belongs.

The Wayne County Raccoon Hunters club will be hosting a Level I RO class and a Level II CRO class the last week in March. The CRO class will be on Thursday the 28th & Friday the 29th from 6-10 pm each night. The Level I RO course will be Saturday the 30th (8-5pm) and Sunday morning the 31st from(8-12pm). The CRO course is $40 per person to attend. If I charge $50, then we will have pizza’s and pop for all attending so that you don’t have to worry about dinner for the CRO course. For the RO course it will be $50 as well so that I will have Logan’s cater a nice BBQ lunch on Saturday. This way we don’t have to worry about a long lunch break.

The courses will be held at the following location

    Firearms Exchange Gun Range

    30305 Schoolcraft Road

    Livonia, MI 48154

    734-422-4867

I-96 Jeffries Freeway Service Drive just west of Middlebelt Road.

Park in back of the building please.

If you have questions, do not hesitate to contact me. First come first served on the class seats so get your entry and $$ into me as soon as possible. Please make out checks to The Wayne County Raccoon Hunters for $40 and bring the $10 cash to the course for food. If you can think of anyone in the area who would benefit from taking a class, please pass this email on. This is open to any USPSA member regardless of where their home club is located. The CRO class is only for those who have been an RO for a year.

Mail the application to my address which is as follows:

    Roy Neal

    121 Pinewood Circle

    Plymouth, MI 48170

    Thank you

  5. I have been competing with my Predator Tactical in 9mm for a season and half and very much enjoy shooting it. :D Adjustable sights with a fiber optic front.

It was purchased for competition and has performed as expected. I shoot 3 - 4 matches a month locally plus a weekly Thursday night practice during the season. So I have put several thousand through it and it is still tight.

  6. All guns are different and you will need to find the right combination for yours. I can use only round nose bullets in mine. That being said. With 10 rounds loaded the Metalforms work in both my 9mm Colt and 9mm Predator Tactical. The Tripps I have only work in the Predator if they are loaded to 8 rounds but will work in the Colt with 10 rounds loaded. The Wilsons are not really reliable in either one with more than 8 rounds loaded.

    You mileage may vary.

  7. Just an FYI for those of you planning to use 275... There are lane closures due to construction :( So plan accordingly.

Also this will be our first match using electronic scoring. So far it has been very easy to use at our practice sessions. I hope everyone likes it as much as the stats guys :D

Papa Joe you may want to slip decaf in SEV's coffee pot :surprise:

As always thank you all for coming to our match!

  8. Been there... Done that.... got the T-shirt too.

My 9mm Colt does not like my Tripp mags unless the bullet has a round nose profile. It likes the Metalform 10 rounders with any bullet round, pointy whatever.

Try a round nose profile bullet. Montana Gold 130 gr round nose or maybe the Berry 38 super 150 gr bullet.

    Hope that helps.
