The Pro comes with a magwell so you would have to take it off for carry optics. The compact takes 15 round mags and the full size is 18 of course extensions will get you to 23. I have a full size and am putting a magwell on it for limited optics.

Do you have the full size Pro model? Do you find the trigger worth the additional cost over the standard PDP?

  2. In the market for a carry optics/service pistol. PDP felt great in my hand, trigger was okay. Spoiled from 2011 platform I guess. Did some research and found the Pro model. Like the idea of a better trigger and ability to run it suppressed. Unfortunately none can be found local to see if the trigger is really worth the extra cost. Anyone have hands on experience with the Pro model? Everyone running the full size or the compact?

Sorry I answered in the above post. If you have more specific questions go ahead and ask

Appreciate the response. Im going to check it out tomorrow. They have both a Rival and the Competitor in stock. Thinking about getting a Production gun. If I have any more questions I'll be sure to reach out. Thanks again.

I doulas have sworn when I first heard about this it was going to have a shift to the RDO mounting location and keep the rear sight on.

From what I understand there are two models and one does keep the rear sight on.

  5. I see Canik has released the Rival here in the states. Has anyone actually received one to try yet? I have seen a couple of YouTube reviews but nobody I know has seen one in person. Looks like a really decent gun for the money.

Thanks for sharing. Your son is lucky to have you as his father. The best times are where you both had a great experience. I'll bet he shoots better than you. 😀

Let's hope so lol. Thank you for the kind words. It was so much fun watching him shoot, concentrating and listening to all the instructions. He really impressed me with his level of effort he has putting forth. Definitely a great day in my life.

  7. Received the Vedder Light Tuck and have been using it the last couple of days. Extremely comfortable and great retention. Claw really helps with concealment. Thanks for the recommendation.

I’ve been using a Vedder LightTuck IWB holster for about a year with my P365 and am very happy with it. I recommend getting it with the claw option to keep the grip tucked towards your body. I also just ordered their ProDraw paddle OWB for range use, but I haven’t gotten it yet. I had a hard time finding a decent OWB holster for it. I wish Blade Tech made one as I like their products.

I went ahead an ordered the Vedder. They had a 15% off sale yesterday and there local to me in Florida. Let me know how you like the ProDraw, I will want an OWB at some point.

  9. Just purchased the P365XL Romeo Zero and looking for recommendations for IWB and OWB EDC holsters. Live in central Florida so need something as comfortable as possible in the heat. Thanks in advance.

I have a radical 5.4, It is my first 2011. It eats 1.125, 1.180 and 1.200 without an issue. I'm very happy with it thus far. Factory mags with TT pads and the factory performance spring&follower kit hold 22 rounds of 40. Pressing down on the barrel hood like chalee mentioned earlier in the thread does not produce any movement at all, it feels like pressing on a brick. Waiting on the steel grips to arrive stateside, then it will be perfect.

I think they may take the place of STi for factory comp guns at a reasonable price point now that STi went tactical. Your review certainly makes it sound like a viable alternative. Thanks for the review.

I got it around the Christmas holidays. It shoots very good. It is a light gun but the recoil is not bad since you have a full size grip. Also, I believe they advertise it as a 3.5-4 lb trigger but mine is 2lb 2oz. :)  Others would not like that light of a trigger on a carry gun but it doesn't bother me though as it is double the weight of some of my comp guns. They do make a 15 round version that has a grip that is about 1 inch shorter than the 19 round version.  I got it from gparms.com. The owner of the site is Gilbert Perez and he is very helpful and will answer all your questions. STI mags do not fit. Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Thank you for the information. Looks like a winner price wise. I'll do some more investigating and if I have any questions I'll reach out. Thanks again for helping out.

I just purchased a BUl armory SAS II ultralight. Pretty impressed so far. It is great having that small of a carry gun with a full-size 2011 grip that holds 19 rounds. With all of the Bul Armory guns I have held, it seems it will be hard to find a better value for the money.

How long have you had it? How does is shoot? Where did you find one to buy? Sti mags fit?  I'm in the market for a new carry gun and they look like a decent deal but I have never handled one. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Walk away and enjoy your life. We appreciate the forum and all you have contributed to shooting,  Thank you. Or charge what you need or want for a yearly subscription. I’m sure most of us will pay $20 to $25 a year for the content and classifieds if not then they didn’t need to be here to start with.

You need to do what’s right for you.  You don’t owe any of us anything you have already done plenty.

I agree with this 100%. Thank you for all the great information posted through the years. I would gladly pay a once a year fee for access to all this information.

  14. There is a great post filled with information regarding the 15-22 in the Steel shooting portion of this forum. I would definitely check it out. As far as the 22/45 I think there pretty much ready to go as is. I have one stock and one with VQ trigger parts. The gun with the VQ trigger does feel better but my times are pretty much identical with either. Try some different set ups the guys are using at a match and see if one makes a difference for you. Good luck.
