  1. I have a Beretta 92FS Centurion that drops the empty brass at my feet. I have owned several Beretta 92s and normally they throw the brass several feet. Also, sometimes the empty case after being extracted from the barrel fails to clear and is caught with the mouth of the case on the top of the barrel and the back of the case on the face of the slide. It appears that the empty case is either slipping out of the extractor prior to ejection or the extractor is to weak to get the fired case clear before the slide starts forward. Any thoughts? Am I correct in thinking that the problem is the extractor and extractor spring? Where can I purchase these parts? Also, if I change the extractor, is the extractor pin driven out from the top of the slide? Thanks for the help and information.
  2. I had a 40 S&W shell plate on a 650 chip after about 500 rounds. Could not figure out what was the problem until I tore the thing apart. Called and I had a new shell plate in two days at no charge. As for the case lube. I have loaded thousands of rounds of 38 special and 45acp on both a 550 and 650 without ever using case lube and I have not had a single problem. I do not see why the 40 S&W should be any different.
  3. I have several guns in 45 Colt including S&W, Ruger, Colt and a Taurus 450. I am not in to the heavy and hot loads. I load one load that will work in every 45 Colt that I have. It runs about 950 fps depending on the barrel length. The load is as follows: 250gr RNFP Oregon Trails lead bullet over 15.5grs of 2400. This is an Excellent all around load that will not beat you or your gun to death.
  4. Take the Rock Chucker. And then buy a Dillion. I use the Rock Chucker to load my match 223 and 308 rounds and use the Dillion 550 and 650 to load my 45, 40S&W and 9mm rounds. I keep all three busy.
  5. I have used 748 and N-140 in both a 550 and 650. Both seem to work really well. I have also tried H322 and it seems to work great too, but I have not used it as much as the 748 and N-140. If anyone is interested in load data, I load a 69gr MatchKing with the following powders: 748 25.8grs N-140 25.8grs H322 23.0grs
  6. What problems do you run into using a standard barrel with a frame that has been cut to accept a ramped barrel? Thanks
