  1. Mothers polish and a dremel on low, just take your time and don't overdo it....I polished a lone wolf 40-9 barrel that I use in my 23 so I could make double sure I knew it wasn't the stock 40 when shooting 9mm through it. It wouldn't bother me that much to shoot 9mm through a .40 but I wouldn't want to do the opposite! My barrel has been going strong for 2 years with no problems.

  2. Something I noted tonight while reloading. I have a Lee LCT and the pull seems to make a difference, at least with my press. Most of the time my variances are +/- 0.05. I noticed that if I slowly apply the pressure, or rapidly apply it, it can change the OAL by +/- .010.

Since I'm using mixed brass, that's what I'm going to assume is making the difference.

I'll slow my pull down tonight and see if it helps (keep it G-rated)

The only problem I worry about is pressure spikes and accuracy issues

  3. Use a bullet comparator and measure off the ogive.

Measure some bullets and see what the difference is. They are not exact and contribute to some variance.

Unless you run the ragged edge of pressure, I cant see .012 hurting much.

What is the chrono SD/ES of these rounds? I would let that be your judge of the effect the OAL variance is having on your ammo. Might be less than you think.

The o-give is off by the same measurements.....now what

  4. Yeah in all honesty a 650 is enough for me at the current time, a 1050 would be nice but I'm not sure that I can justify paying more just for increased production. It's not like I want to rush through reloading in order to sit on the couch. I enjoy it but would like to increase my production and a 650 seems to be all I need. Thank you for the advise.

  5. Hello friendlys I was hoping to knock out some different loads for .40 and 10mm this weekend and was trying to draw on the experience that lies within the enos borders.

I have titegroup, red dot, blue dot and I'll probably but a couple more powders on thursday when I can sneak away from the office for a minute.

I like titegroup for my 9mm loads but haven't used it in .40 or 10mm and was wondering if anyone had used it with any success. And red dot has always worked well for me but it's hard to find data for. What say you BE.com?

I have a couple thousand mixed headstamps that I will sort tonight and tomorrow, these are only being used for fun, I'm not needing to blow the head off of a rhino or anything.....

.40 will be fired through glock 23

    10mm will go through a glock 20sf

I shoot the PD 180 grain FMJ, but not with TightGroup. I gave away what TightGroup I had, three years ago. Nuff said there!

I use CCI 400 small rifle primers, and 5.4 grains of WSF powder. Out of my (Limited) 4.5" XDm the power factor is 172.

For my (Production) 4.5" XDm, a CCI 500 primer and 5.6 grains of WSF is required to make a power factor of 170.

May I ask why you gave it away, were you unhappy with the performance, too dirty...etc

  6. Since nobody has answered his question. I worked up a load with Titegroup for a 180 berrys bullet for my m&p pro 5 inch.

I used mixed brass, federal primers, and my OAL was 1.125. The temperature outside was 55 degrees and I used a CED chrono.

with 4.9 grains I shot 10 over the chrono

    Average velocity 936.7 fps

    Average PF 168.6

    Hi shot 961.7 fps

    Low Shot 916.1 fps

    Extreme Spread = 45.6 fps

    Standard Deviation = 14.9 fps

I started out at 4.6 and it was too low. Avg PF was 163.8

Bumped to 4.8 and got an average PF of 166.8

Thank you Baba that was exactly the answer I was looking for.

  7. So you just tell me to search...I searched for an hour and found a lot of info on TG for 9mm but I already have that worked out...so that's not that helpful.... I was looking for 10mm with either titegroup or red dot and I was wanting peoples opinions on whether or not TG and RD have too high a burn rate for 10mm/.40.

  9. I have wondered this question myself, I run alot of red dot and titegroup for my 9mm loads but have had so much trouble finding any data for .40 that I have been using blue dot which I'm not really a fan of but use because I have it on hand. I'm going to work up some red dot and precision delta 180 fmj's this weekend for my glock 23

  10. I'm in insurance, that being said I will let them shoot a few with me standing there I watch closely when they shoot to make sure we don't have a squib, and I work on a single stage and weigh charges and visually inspect each so there is almost no chance of doublecharging....almost...

it makes me nervous in the what ifs .....I also advise no rapid firing.

  11. Run a qtip up inside your seating die to see if you get any gunk out of it. Are you seating and crimping in the same step? That hurts consistency as well. And like DW said measure your bullets and make sure they are consistent.

Not seating and crimping in the same step.... clean inside of seating die. I always clean them with a q-tip when finished. I'm a stickler for cleaning things after using them

that's the freaking problem.....no chrono (i know i know i know you gotta chrono to reload accurately/safely) it's on the to-do list
