  1. I am shooting Carolina Cup this year. Shooting Fri/Saturday. I was able to get my application sent the first day they could be post marked. A friend of mine sent his in 3 days after the postmark date, and Saturday was already full. I am sure the match was full week of, but even waiting 3 days, he would have had to shoot on Thursday, Saturday at that point was not an option.

  2. I am running one of the DK triggers like my buddy Jason "P-Snizzle" "Peckerhead "Pratt. I have been shooting 1911's in IDPA and USPSA and recently made the transition to a G35 (gen 4) to be more competitive in LIMITED and to shoot PRODUCTION this year. The Glock trigger as you all know in its stock configuration feels like...... well poop IMO. I am used to the crisp breaking, nice trigger that I have in my 1911's with a Cylinder and Slide kit in it that breaks right around 3.25-.3.5 lbs. The DK trigger kit is as close to my 1911's as it can possibly in a production type gun like a Glock. I didn't think it could be done, but I was proven wrong. I have not had a single issue yet and have shot a couple of matches with it with a few live fire practice sessions and a lot of dry fire. I am more than impressed with it thus far.

I also added a Jager guide rod and one of the Zev red (14lb.) recoil spring with the reducing ring. (Must get the reducing ring if you are running a gen 4 because of the different design on the front of the pistol). This has also had a significant on splits over the Glock stock recoil spring assembly and has made the pistol to have a really nice recoil that returns on target very nicely.

IMO, you will not go wrong with this trigger kit. That is my 2cents. Be safe guys and girls.

  3. Oh no! That is a major no no. I learned the hard way, but I only did it one time and learned my lesson in the process of getting burnt on a stage. I now make the habit of putting mags that have been used on a stage in a pocket or carry them in my hand after I am done. It was embarrassing for me when it happened, but it was a one time mistake that I definitely learned from and have never made it again.

  4. Thank you Freakshow. I appreciate the response. It looks like I will be using that load to get started. Biloxi is loading about the same thing with just a fraction longer. Thanks again! i knew I would be able to find an answer on Enos. It seems like this is about the best place to find reliable info. Be safe guys.

  5. Guys,

I really appreciate the input. Freakshow, that is some awesome information there I have been looking for a while and could never find it. I have thought about dialing back my 200 gr. LWSC to 6.0 or 6.1, because I am a little on the hot side of the power factor. Right now I have WAY more than enough cushion in case I get chrono'ed. So I will give that 6.0 a try and see how that runs. Thanks again for the post!

  6. Guys,

I am starting to load a 175 gr Lead TCBB bullet. I have been reloading for several years now using mostly Winchester Super Field for my 45 loads. I am having a hard time finding load data for this particular bullet. I did see on here where some people are using 6.0 grains of WSF. That seems way too hot. I maybe wrong, but it just seems that is on the high end. I use 6.2 grains right now for my 200 gr LSWC in 45 and I am around 850 fps.

I need a major load for USPSA limited and also a minor load for production in USPSA and ESP/SSP for IDPA. Does anyone have any experience with either or both for major and minor for this bullet.

I appreciate the help in advance. Thanks guys,

  7. Just two weeks ago . . . I ride to the IGA store with my wife. The parking lot has a pretty good slope to it, and we are parked pointed down hill. She comes out of the store, gets in, starts the engine and fumbles with her purse. (the vehicle is still in park). The car next to me (passenger side) starts backing up (they are pointed up hill). Ellen starts screaming and pumping on the brake pedal . . . "WE ARE MOVING . . . DAVE, HELP ME!!!" I finally convince her the car beside us is moving . . . not us.

Had my wife's Jeep Liberty actually been coasting, it would have been coasting up hill :roflol:

I am embarrassed to admit that I have done something similar at a redlight. I was in the turnlane and the cars beside me were going straight. Their light turned green and started moving, which made it feel like I was going backwards. I know the feeling she had!

  8. Looks good hanau! There is a place in Sarasota, FL, "Johnny Glocks LLC" that does good work. He also does some really nice trigger work. A couple of friends of mine down that way have had their triggers done by by them and they are extremely happy. Check them out. I don't think Sarasota is considered south Florida, but they are at least in FL. Good luck on finding someone. When they do it right, it looks awesome!

  9. Knock on wood I haven't recieved one and hope I never do, but every time we ALL step on the range we are one movement or shot away from receiving one. Sounds like you took it like a man. I have seen folks get a DQ and act like a child. It's bad for everyone in your squad, yourself, and even the sport when that happens. Sorry for the DQ! Be safe out there!

  10. Guys,

I encountered an issue today on a new Glock 35 Gen 4. I have polished the important internal parts to remove any of the scratchy or spongy feel in the trigger pull. I also had ordered the Glock Worx Competition spring kit and Race Connector. After installing these parts, everything seemed fine. I packed up pistol and headed to the range. I was going to do some dry firing before actually shooting and noticed that the trigger would NOT reset. You could rack the slide a few times and then it finally would reset. This kept happening so I decided that it could possibly be the trigger spring having too much tension not allowing the trigger to return, so I replaced it with the stock Glock trigger spring. Problem solved. I did not have any more issues after replacing the trigger spring. The trigger felt incredible, even for a glock trigger. I typically shoot 1911's with triggers at 3.0 - 3.5#'s. And I was still impressed with this one, especially after only having to do minimal work and spend minimal money to achieve such a nice trigger. The reset could be a little less or quicker, but I believe I can resolve it with a Ultimate Trigger stop.

Also primer strikes were good. I was using Federal primers. I was concerned that they may be light with this set up, but everything was great. (I am running a Storm Lake Barrel in this pistol)

Just wanted to write this in case anyone out there changes some springs out and experiences the same thing. I did contact Glock Worx and they are sending out a new trigger spring for me to try. Their customer service is exceptional. If the second Glock Worx spring doesn't work, I am not opposed to just keeping the stock spring in it. Like I mentioned before, the trigger pull is really nice at this point.

    Be safe out there!

  11. I have only done this while shooting a rifle from a rest, mainly because I was the only one there and was getting bored with the 200 yard walk. My muffs have a port that I can plug a cord that goes into my iPhone. I have never tried it while shooting my pistol.
