  1. I have a full custom open 38 super and i also have a factory 9 SC. Both are flawless. I didnt experience any problem with both so i am always confused the morning before i leave for a match about which one to use. My factory gun is cheaper so i used the saved money on bullets and powder :)

  2. A friend who shoots open sti broke the same thing. His thumb rides on that safety when he shoots. We saw an ambi safety with integrated thumb shield. Ordered it and the shield offers a solid support to the safety. We gave it a year to break but so far its almost 2 years now and its still intact.

  3. I traded my XD40 for Glock 22. Why? Parts availability. But if SA will sell parts in the future then probably I'll buy again an XD

Now Im having fun with my G22. No worries if in case something broke. I can fix it in minutes because I have spare of littlte things for Glock.

How many days do you get your XD back from the factory if something needs fixing.

The ergonomics and pointability issue. Well before I pull the trigger, I always make sure I am using the sights so to me its not how I hold the gun but how I use the sights in relation to target.

By the way I bought another Glock last month - this time Glock21. Used but accurate and pleasant to shoot.

  4. My Trojan and I participate at SSC every year and again this year (its so addicting). I use Mc Cormick 10mm. I use the same load as my limited so the oal i am using is 1.200. My mc cormick mags are flawless. I have 10 mags and theyre all reliable. The only thing I did was to convert it to 8 rounder so the RO's and the other competitors cant question the capacity.

  5. I use 185 swc's, but had a hard time to feed it well until I saw a picture of a magazine article showing a factory bullet with box on side. The load was very short and seated almost to the shoulder or to the fore end of the widest part of the bullet. I copied it and lessen the amount of powder to get the PF i want and since then I didnt have any problem with feeding.

  6. 1. Do you look at the gun (with focus on the magwell) when you reload or do you reload by feel (I mean fixing your eyes on the target and not looking at the gun and the mag when you reload). If you are looking then you will be conscious of what and how you are doing it.

    2. Are you conscious of your reloading time? Maybe you are reloading too fast and you are unconsciously doing anything possible to lessen the time. Maybe you need to go slow.

    3. If you dont want to shift your hand to release the mag then use the support hand thumb to release it. Its slow (I know) at first, but practice will make your movements fluid and will be fast eventually.

    4. Leave the DQ behind. Its a good learning experience. DQ was designed for us shooters to improve. Its also a safety (for all shooters) reminder.

  7. Dont worry. The people shooting at matches are friendly and helpful. Tell them its your first time and they will exert all their effort to help you out esp the RO's. When I started, I dont even have the equipment, I was watching and talking to one of the shooters and asking a lot of things. He asked me if I want to shoot and lend me his equipment inc belt and holster. I was too nervous and I think I finished my first stage in more than 1 minute with more misses than hits. All I hear after the command "if the shooter is finished...." are applauses from my squad mates. And that started me to become a member of USPSA. Thats my experience :D

  8. Happened to me today. My friends thought i was just spraying bullets out there. I shot only one stage like the old me. The others are like first time I shot a match.

I dont know what happened to me. I slowed down, and same thing happened and then suddenly I connected and came back on the last stage. What on earth caused that. Well an old acquaintance just said charge it to experience and just have fun.

  9. I use mc cormick mags and they run perfect on my gun. They are stainless steel and reliable for short and long OAL.

If you load only short OAL, Mecgar sells mags for short OAL. If you cant find one of the Mecgars, call Kimber. The .40 mags they sell are made by Mecgar

  10. Make sure that you fit those parts first on the gun where you intend to use it. My spare extractor didnt function well (too tight) when I bought it so I tweaked it a little bit to make it a drop-in replacement when that time comes.
