Stoeger’s Dry Fire reloaded has a guide towards the back page which details the type of drill you are going to do on what day, how often and for what type of shooter (beginner, intermediate, expert).

I have the book along with his Skills and Drills.

these are the books I learned with and suggest them to anyone.

This is definitely an older thread. But for someone who had no real dry fire regimen, and now on a 1yr deployment this is exactly what I've been looking for as a "square 1" upon my return. I'll be very rusty as I haven't really shot much and scratching my head wondering where in the world to start when I get back. Thank you guys so much for creating and making this available!!! And thank you to the gentleman who compiled it into a word doc.

Dry fire is the best thing I had ever tried.  made me much more confident in my transition and draw

If you want to try an autoloader take a look at the Browning A5- it is fast cycling, reliable feeding, has "low recoil", has interchangeable chokes, and is a good looking shotgun. The price is right also. There are many versions to choose from.

Its a great duck gun. It isn't any more less expensive than the A400.

Smokeless gunpowder has nitroglycering in it and they od te

Well used range bags will ring the explosives test alarm.  BTDT about once a year, wash it and good to go for another year or so.   I suspect it's not so much burnt powder residue as the inevitable round with no primer that leaks unburned powder out and that triggers it, being made with nitroglycerin and all.

Makes sense but this is why I am now very cautious about touching anything after reloading or shooting then I always keep flying stuff away from shooting stuff.   Haven't had a problem since.

It’s won’t pick up a thing. Smokeless gun powder is a different chemical to what they are testing for.

the new test must be much better than when they first started swabbing bags after 9/11.   I flew from Pittsburgh to Denver for a snowboard trip and was pulled out cause my bag flagged residue and they wanted me there when they went thru it.  this was my snowboard bag that could only have hand transfer in it as I never put guns in it or near it.

  6. I would suggest checking out a local teacher.  they can help you get started and also will have access to different guns to try out and see which fits right or is at least close.   personally I shoot a custom stocked Beretta 682 over under and my little girl is wanting a custom stocked Beretta  A400 in 20 gauge.

No wife to reload, or at least fill the damn primer tubes ?   :eatdrink:

Your a lucky man if she can be trusted to fill primer tubes, my ex took the primers out of box and flipped them all opposite from how they where packaged and picked them up.  didn't matter which side was up.
