  1. I had the barrel of my new 11-87 cut to about 22" It will cycle powerful load but not dove/trap loads.  It is going to be used mainly for falling steel plates. I only put about 20 rounds through it today it was new before that.  I am wondering weather I should drill out my gas ports or dose it just need to be shot more?  I think someone once said they had to drill from .072 to .080 to get their short barrel to work properly.  Also if I do drill how will this affect full power loads ran through the same barrel?

  2. Second law of thermodynamics- paraphrased- You cant even get out the amount of energy you put into a system. The Carnott heat engine is the ideal standard by which all others are measured against and it is imposable to reach this level of performance or actually build a Carnott heat engine.  Carnott is always less that 100% efficient also.  Even if someone were to prove the laws of thermodynamics wrong there would still not be free energy because greedy humans would always chare the other guy;  Even if they are getting something for nothing

  3. In my area no sight pictures is interpreted as no ghost shooting or shadow shooting before you run the stages.  It will get you a stern lecture at a local match and possibly an ftdr at a major match.  This past weekend I shot a match across the state (Ohio) and it was normal for the shooters to ghost before shooting or during the walk through. However it was a rules of the day match under IDPA name. I would like to here it from someone how knows for sure.  Bill Nesbit?

  4. If Brian does not mind I would like to give my ideas that would help boost Team Ancient off of the ground. All shooters who are interested in being part of    Team Ancient    please list you name, handle, sport in which you will be representing team Ancient (IPSC, IDPA…).

    Ideas For Team Ancient

Team Ancient members will be required to give due’s (annual, biannual…) of introducing and bringing a new shooter to your sports local match.  At all times Team Ancient member are expected to act professionally and with honor.  Take pride in Team Ancient. While representing Team Ancient the teams’ logo should be displayed  (hat, shirt, ect). I have a jpeg of a shirt drawn up but cant figure out how to post it but i can email it.  Maybe a Team Ancient topic with weakly team training drills that all team members must do.  Anyone else have some ideas.

Brian so there is no out of pocket expense shirts could be prepay by team members and shiped after they are made?  They could not take that long to have made up.

  5. I just tried the ISMI 12.5# recoil spring with a 15# mainspring.  I am using 200gr swc making 165 PF.  I can feel the slide hit the (2)  .090 red buffs.  Is this normal?  Are you guys sure this is not beating up my gun?  Not that i doubt you but just making sure.  Thanks  Charles

  6. I have just bought a remington 11-87 to build into a limited gun for 3-gun and steel matches.  I will be replaceing the barrel that it came with (rifled slug) but i dont know what is the best to put on.  Vent rib or not?  I have ordered my ez loader, extended mag tube, big saftey.  What other goodies can I add to it.  What sightes do you recomend?  Has anyone use the Vang comp with out the ports?  Any one used the comp coil or counter coil recoil reducers?  What recoil pad is the best? Tell me your dream limited gun.   All help would be appreciated.

  7. Turn two switches to the "ON" position. Wait a few minutes. Turn off one of the two switches. When you reach the light on the top floor, the light will be on or the light will be off. If the light is on the switch you left on is the correct switch.(obviously).  If the light is off it will be either warm or cold.  If it is warm it was the switch that you turned off. If it is cold it is the switch that remained off the whole time.        Charles

  8. This may not be the right place to ask this question but since a few of you use turners i have some things i would like to know.  We are a very low budget range and i build some of the target stands. The swingers are easy enough but i cant figure out how to make the turners.  I would like to know how they operate and if anyone has built them before.  I am most interested in the ones where the target just turns and does not drop.  any help would be appreciated.  Charles
