Sounds like they are going to require the frangible rounds for any steel to me.
Brian
Is this something you guys see alot? This is the first time with this particular requirement. Maybe it has something to do with the fact it is a LEO/Fire competition.
-
The match requires it. I have no clue why.
-
I thought the exact same thing. For the exact same marching band reasons. The "Slide," as my particular band director called it, looks like it would have worked better.
I actually use quite a bit of marching technique in matches.

Not exactly sure if this is the best place to post this, but I can't think of anywhere else.
I have an upcoming match that requires frangible ammo. Does anyone know the best place to get it? So far, what I have found is that it generally runs almost 2 times as much as FMJ's.
Any help?

I think I may be building one soon. From what I hear I may need one at RockCastle.

It hurts even more when you do have those extra rounds...just in the truck, not on your belt.
-
I didn't even mention it was on the first stage of the day. Which set a great tone for the rest of the match. I figured that it would ruin the day for me. But I sat and stewed on it for about 2 minutes and let it go. I had a great time the rest of the day.

Oh, I had another 100 shells in the truck...

When a shotgun stage requires 20 rounds...bring 40.
Not 24.
That is all.

I am looking at getting into shoot 3 gun in central Florida and found this sight. Please point me in the right direction. Thanks Ken
Hey Ken, check out CFRPC.com they have monthly 3-gun matches, a lot of friendly folks and good shooters! I've only been down there a couple times but it was worth it.
^What he said.^
We also have 3 Gun at Okeechobee Shooting Sports.

Shot a few rounds of 5 stand today with a friend who was using a Saiga. Complete with Mid-Barrel Comp and Optic...
...glad we were the only two shooting. I had to get a few stands in between us after the first round.

323 AM.
Can't wait for August.

I'm in!!!
Hell yeah!

And it looks like someone got a freebie at 1:48-1:50.
Reference to "round dumping?"
It's video, so that can be a little misleading, but it looked like a finger in the trigger guard while reloading.
Oh wow, I feel like an idiot now...
Thanks for pointing it out though. I have no clue what kind of mental screw up happened during that reload. Maybe it was first stage jitters. It won't happen again though.

Very nice... congrats! What division / class?
3rd place, ESP Marksman. Should have been first though...

Had a hell of a time at my first major, The 2012 IDPA Triple Crown I. My jaw dropped when Toni stated there were 31 movers in the match during the briefing. It dropped even further when we walked through the first stage (Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore...). I shot the first stage of the day (Stage 5 in the video below) very bad. Then I made myself realize that I was there for the experience, not the trophies. And I had a BLAST after that.
Here's a quick video I put together from a Flip Camera and a Contour HD mounted on the bill of my hat.
WARNING: Loud Music lies ahead...
Oh, and I walked away with a trophy.

I know Stage 3 killed me this past weekend. I was comfortable with the time, just not so much with the points down.
As for the breakdown, I have never put eyes on one. I would like to though.

Which one?

Fender or Gibson?

Congrats on the first match, Matt.
Welcome to your new addiction.

That is what I ended up getting. I spent quite a bit of money to have it here before the classifier I shot on Saturday. I also got some Arredondo +0 basepad, which did not like the ZEV magwell very much. I spent a few hours filing the front of the magwell down so the mags would seat.
-
Gotcha.
I guess I'm going to have to look into something from Glock Store, because I'm not sure the ZEV is IDPA legal as all I see are brass channel inserts.

Is there anyway a moderator can cut out my question and move it to the gunsmithing or general equipment section?
Or should I just make a new thread?

The 19 does have a lanyard hole.
As far as the angle of the bottom of the grip, it's the only Glock I own right now, so I can't compare. But here is a crappy cell phone picture.

Thanks, I'll have to call and see if he sells anything less than a 1000.
