Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Mikie, defore you mount that red dot think about returning it. I gave one away because of the solar. I hunt and keep my rifle in the case some times i wouldn't pull it out until night and no red dot. Some people might not see this as a problem but for me it was a deal killer. Primary arms dot i only change the battery once a year and its always on.
  2. Brownells has them for $190 answered my question
  3. Were can i purchase a OKO of the web thats not Brownells our Midway?
  4. 20 miles from cotulla. Also i married into that family. Whats really nice is that its open fire after you get in the gate. The first time i took a trip down their with my wife i had no idea what that ranch was like. She had no idea what the size was but she did say that the house had 20 rooms and that made me start to think. Their family is really into shooting sports and hunting so it was ideal for me. I spend 3 month a year down their I dont need to come home for nothing, they have a reloading room and a cook that comes in on the weekend.
  5. I have 3 ranges that i use the most. The first range is down the road from my house and is $5 a gun but the grazy man lives out their and it can be a little strange at times. I also have 100acres that my buddy boss ownes and we built a little range out back. Its a great place no problem and is only 20 miles from my house. I also have a 35,000 acre ranch that i spend most of the fall hunting and shooting. We also have a skeet range with a high and low tower and the best dam pistol range i have ever seen. Its easy when you have a barn with every large tractor you can dream about. I am going to clear a 1000 yrd path that you can shoot off the porch from the house this summer. Its in the golden traingle in texas. If you know were that is?
  6. You would be surprized mag changes with the 22/45 not as fast as the real thing but if you practice its not that hard. I could see changing mags with a mkii being a problem. I have been to a ipsc match at my home range and talked to some of the people and they were really good guys. Gave me some tips but they said that they dont do a .22 shoot and told me to bring my glock to the next match. I just dont feel like i can handle that pistol good enufe.
  7. That sounds like a winner, need some more target. My friend tog=day said that i could go threw is old scrap pile and look for some steel.
  8. I dont feel that the pratical reason will ever come into play in my life. I just like to shoot and the .22 allows me to do this. Last sunday i was at the range and some guys asked me wy i shoot that little .22 well i said "i am not that good to shoot the larger gun yet" They chuckled and walked back to their spot. Funny think was i could do 2 plate racks in the time it took them to do 1. Thats ok i have my own range and i am aslo building a plate rack that should be ready next week if i get some time this weekend. The price of steel has gone threw the roof!!
  9. I have been shooting pistols for about 2 years and love it. I do have a kimber .45 and a glock 17 in .40. As time has past i shoot my 22/45 more that i shoot the larger guns. The money that it would take for me to practice the way i do it would cost me a arm and a leg. For $7 i can shoot the ruger all day long. I just cant find a ispc match that i could enter that would allow me to shoot the gun i pratice with the most. It just might be that i am looking in the wrong places but i would think that this would be a great area to get more people into the sport. I do have a reloader but really dislike reloading but i could use it down the road is i realy like the sport. It just silly to me that the .22 is looked down on so much. You can go out and buy a s@w 41 for under $500 and have one of the best guns on the line. Most people i know own a .22 pistol and it would only take a little work to make it a racer and they dont need a reloader.
