  1. Twix:

I have three guns on order. My Custom Limited and Open Pro SX won't be here until May of next year :( so I ordered the SC Limted to keep me happy until then :D . My SC is scheduled to ship August 16th  so I was just curious if anyone had one yet how they liked it. Thanks.

  2. I am having all kinds of trouble with the primer feature on the 550B. I have tried everything Dillon has recommended and continue to have problems  . 7 out of 10 times when I pull the handle down a primer will not load in the cup. When I pull the assembly back manually 2 or 3 shoot out across the room. I have reseated the primer cup, replaced the plastic end of the tube, cleaned everything, adjusted the screw on the back of the arm and still the same thing happens over and over  . If anyone can help before I jump out a window it would be appreciated. Thanks.

When is your Brazos gun going to be shipped to you? I ordered my Pro SX and was told April \ May of next year. I hope I'm still interested in the sport then :D I ordered all the extras and am too looking forward to getting it. Maybe I should go out and purchase my Dillion dies in the next several months and start loading some up. I have yet to tell Bob what caliber I want but was thinking of .38 Super Comp.

  4. Flexmoney, thanks I, will see if I can get a Sierra manual from the local shop this weekend.

Monster, thank you. I will load them up tonight and try them this weekend.

Gun Geek, :D you crack me up! You actually shot your Chrono?? I hope I don't do that! I hate throwing money out the window and besides the wife would shoot me if I did that. I am ordering the CED today along with the infrared screens and battery pack. Anything else you think I might need???

  5. Thanks Norm :D I will give it a try. Looking at Chronographs now to purchase. Question, do you think the range mind if you set one up inside? I shoot at the Basspro shop here in Illinois. I guess I'll have to give them a call. I also got mail from someone on this board to try titegroup so I will run out and give that a try also. Thanks again for your help.

  6. :D The frustration comes from not being able to find any data. If someone could recommend a book with these loads I have no problem going out and buying it, it's just finding it. I even sent mail to VihtaVuori and they sent a reply back "sorry, we haven't tested that load" I'm ready to flush it down the toilet. If someone could even recommend a powder that has a lot of data that would be great. Thanks Tightloop for the input and yes, flexmoney, I would like to have a "practice" load and one for the USPSA Major. Currently I shoot a Springfield TGO 1 in Limited-10 and just ordered a Brazo Pro Sx for open which should be delivered in May of next year or sooner I hope. Thanks again guys and if you could point out a book, please let me know.

  7. OK I hope I can get all this down and have it make sense. Any help would be appreciated. I need load info for the following:

    Bullets

185 gr FP West Coast plated

200 gr FP West Coast plated

    185 gr JHP Montana Gold

    200 gr JFP Montana Gold

    Powder

    VihtaVuori N310

    Alliant Bullseye

    Primers:

    Winchester WLP

    CCI 300 Large Pistol

Mix and match if you wish, his is what I have so if you can help put a combo together that would be great. :D

  8. Bob, could it be that I might get my Pro SX before May of next year :D:D Please don't tease me ;) If your adding staff please don't let the quality I've heard so much diminish, that is why I picked Brazos Custom! BTW - Thanks for taking time to answer my questions and for pointing me in the right direction.

  9. BH... i found that site last week and inquired to why the price was so high and they said "because we have it in stock". I said never mind, I will wait the year rather paying that kind of price not to mention it's not "custom". Bob is getting my hand print and that's what he will use to make sure the gun is built for me so I would rather wait and besides it gives me some time to gain some valuable experience.

  10. Kevin, it's NOT going to be easy BUT since I have only been shooting for 5 months and just did my first local USPSA match last Sunday I figured it will give me plenty of time to learn learn learn learn! Mean time I will continue to shoot Limited-10 with my TGO and work to move from 6th to first place! :D and maybe attend some state matches for some experience. Know what I mean???

  11. I am new to this sport and currently shoot in the Limited-10. I love it so much that I may go into either the Limited or Open for next year. I have been looking at the Brazos line for my choices - the BCG Pro Series Limited or the BCG Pro SX. The Pro sx has a one year back log so I have to make my choice very soon if I choose Brazos. I'm looking for anyone who has experience with Brazos and what they think of his product. I also have been looking at the Spitfire at Chuck Bradley's site shootersconnection.com so if anyone can help provide any information that would be fantastic. Thank you. Happy shooting

  12. Thanks DD I will try a lighter spring and see how that goes. Thank you all for your help. I found the results on the USPSA website from yesterday's first match. Of 18 shooters in the Limited-10 I finished 6th :D:D:D which I thought was pretty good considering I'm new at this sport and let me tell you I had a BLAST. I wish I would have gotten into this sooner. Waiting for the next match will kill me!

  13. Wow, it's been some time since I've checked this thread (due to work, etc. etc.) Thank you all very much for your wisdom. I shoot my 1st local USPSA match tomorrow and I'm so nervous I can't sleep, probably why I decided to check the thread :D I have my TGO all ready to go after going to the range yesterday. I shot 3/4" group at 25 feet and 1 1/4" at 75 feet by that's with no preasure. I purchased from Brian a Levitation belt, 5012 carbon fiber holster and 5 mag pouches.

Two questions, 1) what is a dust cover? I just saw that mentioned but was too lazy to search on the net for it

    2) I did some loading on my Dillon 550 and tried the following, .45-185 gr FP Westcoast plated, CCI primer, Starline brass and Vihtavuori N310. I contacted Vihtavouri and they recommended 3.7gr - 4.6gr so I loaded up 15 of each grain up to 4.5 and everything up to 4.4 would NOT eject from the gun. I had to manually pull the slide back each and every time to make a shot. The 4.5 ejected every time but did not produce a slide lock (when the slide stay open after the last shot) and I didn't try any 4.6 loads. I changed the spring from a 18.5lb to 16.5lb before testing the above and yet all would not eject. Any ideas???? Shouldn't they eject in the lower ranges??? If I have to load them that high I should just stay with factory ammo which is what I'm using tomorrow so I don't look like a fool

Well, after all this typing I am now tired <_< and 6:30 comes early and I need to rest up for tomorrow morning shoot. Thanks again everyone and happy shooting :D

  14. All, thanks for the input up to now. Spook, I forgot to mention I do have a Dillon 550B and I'm reloading .45 for my Trophy match. I'm using VihtaVouri N310, starline brass, and a 185gr LSWC however at 3.7 - 4.4 gr the case will not eject out of the gun. I'm going to try the max recommended load of 4.6 and maybe replace the 16 lb spring with something lighter as recommended by Springfield and hope that works. I also ordered Oregon Trail 200 SWC to try as that is what I saw on this site. I believe it was mentioned to use 4.5 gr??? Thanks.
