  1. This is the third annual Bragging Rights Match conducted jointly with Schultz's Gun Club. Schultz's sponsors four stages and NISA sponsors four more stages! Right now the event is tied, with the Wisconsin Shooters winning one match and the Illinois bunch winning another. SHOOTING STARTS AT 9 AM!!!

I'll be there, actually I'll be there tomorrow morning helping set up.

  2. A quick question, when your place in line hits zero what happens? Do you get a call, email or a letter in the mail?

Once it hits "0" (assuming it's not a case of bad data and you're really at the top of the list), you are next in line to be offered a slot.

When you are offered a lot, a link allowing you to pay for your slot will appear on your USPSA classification record.

You should see the # ahead decrease as time goes on, but this won't really start happening in any serious way until after 4/2 which is the duedate for the outstanding slots (those not returned are voided).

Thanks Rob. I am still holding at #2 (if this is correct) for the Limited Nats. I would hope some or most slots get handed out before July as I (and I'm sure most others) have to plan vacation time, make reservations for the hotel and car rentals, etc. etc. etc.

Tom (Mainus), what is your place on the wait list?

  3. Went up to Mesa yesterday to check out the range and found that it's really BIG and roomy. There was a lot of Cowboy action shooting going on, looks like another fun shooting sport but can't imagine getting dressed up in all that gear on a 100 degree day  - ouch!

Lot's of props all over the place, they must put on an awesome monthly match! Looks like 83 on Thursday, 80 on Friday and Saturday. Perfect weather although jeans may be required when sliding down the fire pole so you don't lose any skin :(

  4. I have never seen this subject bought up but would like to ask since I've seen this at Nationals. How do you feel about Sand Baggers? :(

Don't worry grandpa Dave, we still like you! :P

LOL, your too funny Cam! Wish you would have been there to shoot with us. :D I was referring to the guy that came in 1st in the class I shot in. The guy is shooting 73% in Limited and almost 75% in Limited-10 but yet shoots "C" in Open, and you can see by his classifiers he messed up his Open classifiers on purpose, what a joke! How unfair to the shooters who worked their a##es off to be at Nationals :(

  5. No awards "dinner", just appetizers... ;)

Awards were given out first - plaques, medals, trophies. Then the prize table was visited in rough order of finish - top 16, top lady, top in each class, top junior, 17 and below.

So my question is if you didn't finish in top 16 but finished first in say "B" or "C" (140th overall), etc. you don't get to visit the table until there is nothing left?

  6. Jeff, your just too darn funny :D I still haven't met anyone that can polish ice cream off like you can and not have a brain freeze ;)

Thanks for the offer, I wish I would have known that while I was shooting there in Michigan but my mother and father in law are using the house and will be there for the next month so I figured I would just send it UPS and they can take delivery of it for me so I don't have to mess with it at the airport.

I'm trying to talk her into coming and watching but not too sure if it will be successful. She said something about bullets flying everywhere  but we'll see. We are planning on being there from the 3rd - 12th so I think I can hang out with the boys for some time but maybe she'll join us and do the drinking for me since I don't drink. I won't need a rental car, I keep a spare in the garage for the vacations, it's cheaper then renting one ;)

I can't wait, I've heard lot's of good things about the match. Regarding the competition being fierce, no worries here, I'm out just to have a great time and see what it's like to shoot in Arizona. I want to see what I have to look forward to when I retire in 6yrs, 9 months :D

By the way, how many guys are going to be on your the squad?

    Dave

  7. I shoot Open, and I use supercomp brass. I also know that even though the open gun is around 2500 - 3k, but the reason I am not practicing at all right now is I simply can't afford the brass.

Do you really need the practice Jake??? :D

    Dave

  8. As I remember, the format is typically half days. If you shoot late one day you shoot early the next day, and vis versa.

The awards and prize table can eat up a lot of time. If you want you can have someone pick up your prize. Just make sure you follow their rules.

Since I was pretty far down on the list, I think it was Monday before I walked the tables--well not quite that bad. It can go quite late, so if you are trying to catch a plane give yourself some extra time. The freeway is not necessarily crowded but if there is an accident it will back up forever. Side streets to the airport can take a lot of time. The rental car shuttle is good for another 30-45minutes. If you are flying SWA, their staff is pretty good with the firearm declaration. Other airlines are not as efficient. Wives can really enjoy shopping in the Area. Scottsdale Square, Kierland (spelling) Plaza, and Old Downtown Snottsdale are enjoyable.

Thanks for the response. I think I will take the plane out Monday giving me enough time. We have a second (vacation) home in Casa Grande so the wife is use to shopping :o and loves Scottsdale though my wallet does NOT :( I look forward to this, I never shot in Arizona before. Know any good places to get a CCW? I have been wanting to do it but could never find a place for the weeks we are there.
