Thank You all. I found a lot of info in the Dillon threads. Very interesting.

The foster body is a sand casting.While this cost effective way to produce the body it is not the most accurate. It may have looked to not concentric to the outside of the casting, there was most likely no worry that all the machined bores and surfaces were concentric, square and parallel. It's the one of the issues with older but proven methods of manufacturing. They stood behind the product that whats counts.

Hello All; Old dog here been out of the loop for several yrs. thought I would learn some new tricks. Fan of the 45ACP/1911 format and around long enough to be a follower of the likes of Elmer Kieth, Jeff Cooper, Skeeter Skelton, Bill Jordan, Bob Milek, George Nonte, Massad Ayoob,Mel Tappan, and Ken Hallock. So I've got some mileage on the bones.
