  1. I have the Hydra-P for CO.  I haven't had any issues with it.  The new new hanger is improved, so you don't need to swap it out.  I did adjust the retention on the lock and I also switched out the detent ball to the steel one. (they have them at Ghost).  I really like the fact that their warehouse is only 2 hours from my house.  I drove there and they really took care of me!

They are running a Black Friday Special for 20% off.

  2. I've had great results with both TF 41+1 kit and the MBX Mini.  I have my TF extensions on Glock mags and my MBX on a ETS Mag.  Only Issue I've had has been with my Lowers.  My USPSA PCC has a Foxtrot Mike lower and it takes both Glock and MBX mags with issue.  My two other PCC's both with PSA Fx9 lowers will only reliably run with ETS Mags.

  3. In pistols, I've shot 147gr for years because of the perceived push on the recoil, as opposed to a flip with the lighter bullets.

In the last couple of years, I've switched to 124gr.  personally, I like the 124gn better.  I feel as if the gun tracks better with the lighter bullets and it's faster back on target.  The 147gn were sluggish for me.

  4. I run the Magpul ACS-L Stock.  Learn to get the gun mounted correctly the first time.  The more you move the gun, or the the more the gun slides, it does nothing but cost you time on the clock.  If you're not dry firing, you need to!  My dry fire time from stock on belt to head shot on USPSA target is .70.  If I miss the mount, I'm going to miss the par time.

I'm mixed about the Steel Challenge match yesterday. I had some misses and made some stupid mistakes.  One shot on square plates requiring two, stationary shooting at times, but it seemed the dot was washed out on several stages which slowed me down.  I really like a bright dot.  I was basically point firing at some of the targets.  Dry firing definitely paid off on some of the stages.  I can see the progress.  I need to trust the process.  It's a marathon and not a sprint.
I ordered a Holosun picatinny rail.  Might dabble with the idea of changing out the Cmore and putting on the Holosun.

    Recap from 10/14/ Match

I came in 10th overall out of 50 shooters and 3rd in PCC. I shot the match with my Steel Challenge PCC.  Considering I has 2 FTSA which resulted in 4 mikes and 2 procedurals (Stage 6) I did very well.  The dryfire training definitely has improved my times for this match.  The match had 2 stages (one Classifier) which required reloads.  I nailed both.  I edited it out of the match video, but you can clearly hear the other shooters say "wow that was fast".

    Other tidbits of useless information

New Taccom Ultralight carbon fiber handguard arrived.  Installed it on my USPSA PCC.  It looks amazing.  14" long.  It covers all but 2" of the comp on my Taccom Barrel.  I have the blast shield installed all the way forward.

Another dry fire training session.  I added some harder movement drills today during my movement session.

Box to Box 3.50 (draw, 2 on paper, move to box B and 2 on paper). Alternate sides left to right and right to left

Shooting while moving hard 2.50 (pics below) 3 steps minimum.  4 reps moving forward/backward alternating and then left/right alternating sides.

The forward/backward is ok.  The right is good, but the moving left is giving me fits.

  8. I went down that rabbit hole once... I say once because of my OCD.  I sorted brass, sorted heads by weight, etc...

In the end, I'm shooting matches at 25 yards or less and I'm not shooting 1000 yards where I need extreme precision.

I agree with all of the above posters.  Just know what your average is powder.  all the rest is just minutia.

  9. My SCSA load for my PCC is 3.0gn Titegroup with 124gr Everglades RN.  Very light load.  The load cycles very well in both of my PCC's.  One is a Taccom 5" barrel with the shroud, pin and welded to 16".  The other is a Taccom 13" barrel with comp to 16".  Both PCC's use Taccom reduced recoil buffers & Hiperfire triggers.  One has Taccom BCG, the other has a hybrid PSA BCG.  Both cycle flawlessly in the PCC's, but will stovepipe every time in my CZ P10F CR OR.

I've also fiddled with 100gr Berry's bullets in the past, but never really developed a load for it.  I load all of my ammo on a XL650.

  10. What's sad is the low vote count.  Seems to me most shooters couldn't care less who runs the USPSA

YML with 2762 votes and Luigi with 2650.  Only 5442 votes out of 26,007 eligible voters.

    A6 Director was close too

Ben Berry with 668 and Kyle Stephens with 609

  11. I just measured the ones I have.  A typical 9mm case (resized) for me is .7535 and the Berry's 100gr head is .4740  Both of those added together is 1.2275 and If he says the OAL is 1.145, that leaves 0.0825 to seat the bullet.

I looked for my load data from years ago when I was tinkering with the 100gr round, but I couldn't find it

My XL650 with Redding Competition seating die is set at 1.120 for 124gr RN bullets.  When I seated the 100gr with the case, it was 1.07.

I'm curious to see what load data is available for Titegroup.  I might have to load some up again and see what they do in my PCC.

  12. I've had my XL650 for almost 10 years now, so it's paid for itself with savings.  To me, it's more about catering the round to match the gun.  If I used store bought ammunition, I couldn't do that.  For example...  my CZ P10F CR OR pistol uses 3.9gr Titegroup with 124gr Everglades RN with free range brass and CCI Primers.  MY FM PCC uses 3.4gr Titegroup with 124gr Everglades RN and CCI primers.  Two totally different loads for two totally different guns.  All I have to do is adjust the powder flow.

How much money do I save?  I couldn't tell you, but I know what I like and I like reloading my own rounds.
