Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Just realized the FU button is on the Ballistics printer, and seeing the Chrony IBM/PC interface and Com Port to usb makes me want to get it, wondering if anyone else has bought the Shooting Chrony ballistics software ?
  2. Thanks for the responses, in the chrony manual it says there's an FU button but its probly for a different model with the external fps screen, anyways i ran to the post office because it wasn't going to be delivered till tomorrow and i didn't want to wait lol. I do have a Dillon XL650 loading 9mm atm, working on getting .223 set up, i wanted the chrony to check and make sure i wasnt going over my powder limits, i've done a few max loads and then my machine kinda gave me a few more .1's after that which only cracked 1 shell(no damage to gun or my self), since then i've done more and more checking to make sure the machine doesn't do that to me again, and if someone want's to load on my machine and they want to load to a specific FPS now i can show them
  3. Obviously its not a Master or one of the better ones so i figure ill have to write down all my Data that comes from it, i know i can add a printer to it but thats another 100$ or so, anything i should know about setting it up or protecting it ?
  4. Since you already have the case prep I'd hold of on getting a swager if money is tight. A buddy of mine has the dillon super swager and I got a rcbs case prep for a steal locally. We were doing 2 buckets of .223 and he was swaging them and I was just cutting it off with the case prep. We ended up doing about the same amount as I could use both hands, grabbing a new piece of brass while cutting the other one. Also see think link: Apparently the Lyman Case prep Xpress has military crimp removal, so i dont think i will need the swager, i did also happen to look at it the other day and noticed the attachments (i had totally forgot they were with it )
  5. i should probably mention that i sonic clean all cases before tumbling removes about 90% of the dirt and caked on stuff, the only reason i have a tumbler is for polishing now and its gonna save me a ton in the long run by not changing as much media as it will not get as dirty and not using as much polish
  6. With what media was this with? did you add any polish to the media? I'm looking to get some from drill spot but not sure which one to get This was the result with the 20/40 Corncob from Drillspot/grainger along with dillon case polish, i have a 3hr outlet timer but it didnt run the full 3 hours, to save money i am probly going to go with nufinish as was suggested by many users
  7. don't believe i do, besides the dropship method is free shipping anyways, and i dont think ill be running out of a 40 pound bag any time soon and i get free brass from a range my buddy picks up.
  8. After about 2 1/2 hours this is the result, I'm pleasantly surprised!
  9. All the cases have been cleaned in a sonic cleaner, this is for the polishing part of it, i read in a few other posts about Nu-Finish, i'm still using up my dillon case polish bottle before i pick up some Nu-Finish, and im guessing its just the big orange bottle of liquid goo i should pick up, not sure if i saw anywhere about diluting it or not i could swear there was something but i could be mistaken
  10. I'm currently tumbling 45 ACP with the 20/40 corncob media from drillspot.com (laptop next to the tumbler ), it seems really small and really light compared to the stuff i ordered with my XL650, obviously its not going to get stuck in the flash hole or shouldn't, my only concern is if its gonna take longer because its so tiny and not a heavier material. just wondering how many people have actually used the stuff from drillspot.com and what kind of results you got and if it took longer than usual? Original stuff I've been using 20/40 Corncob from Drillspot
  11. it will most likely be a ton of Crimped .223 so ill need probably the Super Swage 600 with the little string and rubber band addon ive seen lol
  12. Thanks for the quick responses well to add a little bit more info, i have a local place where i pick up brass for free and another local place i can get .223 1000 for 50$ so, some brass will be loaded more than 2x, mostly what im looking at is 223 and 308, eventually i will get a .338 Lapua Magnum rifle and that brass will be loaded lots of times. some of the rounds loaded will be for at least good accuracy not for any matches or anything but the 338 will be for extreme accuracy. alot of the brass ive been getting is LC .223 and basically all ive been doing is sonic cleaning and tumbling for now as i do not have the dies or conversion kit for my XL650 and the tools i mentioned, and i have seen at least 1 308 with a crimped primer pocket in my brass collection atm. i do have a Lyman case prep Xpress and a primer pocket uniformer that fits in it , and some other tools.
  13. I have an idea on how to reload rifle i just don't have all the tools yet, but i am curious about other peoples way of reloading and what tools they use to get their rounds reloaded, no specific calibers necessary, mostly what i believe im missing, a concentricity gauge, swager, trimmer, a chronometer, and bullet comparator. i've read tons about neck turning and annealing not sure if this is necessary because i dont plan on reloading rifle brass past 2x.
  14. Normally if I'm walking away from the machine I'm done for the day and the handle is up just for the XXL Ziploc over the 650, but i have been growing slightly concerned about the exposed bottom part of the machine so i might start leaving it down, but the machine is empty aside from maybe a few 9mm casings ready to go in the casefeed
  15. lol was on a roll and not really, i was probably going at about 1100 rounds per hour without a bullet feeder at the time that happened and my 650 has a bit of trouble so i have to pull it a little harder then normal or what I've seen most other machines run at. just saw your other post Sarge pretty much about the same thing i also tried to file the locator down to smooth out the rings in it, didn't help called Dillon and they sent off the parts
