The M&P is 5 inches and the SP-01 is 4.7 the difference should be negligible, not 80 fps!!!!
On a side note my Kimber 9mm 1911 runs about 15 fps faster than the M&P with the same loads, obviously it also has a 5 inch barrel.

Hello all--
So do CZ's have slow barrels, is my question.
My story---I've been shooting a S&W M&P Pro 9mm for the past year in production and decided to try something new. Enter the CZ SP-01. I took my standard load for the M&P (4.0gr N320 under a Bayou Bullets 124gr RN lit by CCI/Win primer AOL 1.125 or 4.2gr under a Montana Gold HP 124gr lit by CCI/Win primer same AOL) and ran it through the CZ I only made 118-119 PF!! Chrono'ed a few out of the same box through the M&P and made 129.8 PF. I've had to up my load to 4.3-4.4gr for the BBRN and 4.5gr for MGHP's) is this normal? I did change to Federal primers but that didn't make a difference on the M&P. The powder was out of the same 4 LBS jug too. It just seems the barrel is sloooow,
Thank you
Mr. Magoo

Limcat limited gun 1.2 lbs.
Limcat/CK Dynamix open gun 1.3 lbs.

FWIW--I started with 124gr then gave 500 147gr a go, thought they made the slide feel sluggish, so I went back to 124gr, saw the 135gr got 500 of them shot'em and really liked them. The 135gr shot as accurate as the 124gr, the recoil felt softer, and the slide felt fast enough. Now after I shoot through my last 1000 or so 124gr I'm buying 135gr. The 135gr use less powder than the 124gr to boot. I used Bayou Bullets for 124, 135, & 147gr. This is out of a M&P 9Pro and a 9mm Kimber Target II.

I've heard Power Pistol works well too. The Sierra book lists a load for 115gr bullet that is just under Major.
-
I might have to try 9 Major in my 38 Super gun when I run out of 38 Super brass. I do love being part of a club and I hear the MORONS are a great group of people.

PP is just too snappy for competitive shooting. You can get the same velocity with Bullseye and N320 with a lot softer recoil.
-
What Ranger said. Apex Comp kit and your G2G. The reset kit is optional, I don't shoot for reset in action shooting.
-
I had lock up issues with my 9Pro using a 13lbs spring. I went back to stock spring. 100% reliability. YMMV

Tag so I can find it. I got some 200gr BB's and 16 lbs of N320, got some good places to start.
-
Bullseye works great in both Dillon and with 124gr BB RN's my Minor load is 4.1gr BE, mixed brass, CCI or Win SPP, aol 1.125+/-.005 gives me A PF of 131+/-. It's a little dirty but my M&P 9Pro had never had a hiccup.
-
You forgot the; if you don't like the short AOL you can have the chamber opened up to accept the longer AOL. I own several 9mm, I got a Kimber Target II and I would have had to shorten the round way more that I want to, so my gunsmith opened up the chamber. Now the gun runs great and doesn't take a different load.

Buying Montana Gold by anything less than a case is not crazy it's plain stupid. Go case price or go somewhere else.

I use to shoot PP in my Production gun (M&P 9Pro) I use 5.3gr under MGHP's @ 1.135 to make 131-133 PF. 5.0gr under 125gr BBRN @ 1.135 makes 131-133 PF also.
I don't use PP anymore, I ran out because of the powder shortage we are in, so I have a ton of Bullseye and some N320. The first time I shot a load with Bullseye if felt like a 22. When I chrono'ed that load it more than made PF, I ended up knocking it back a few tenths. My BE load is 4.0gr under a 124gr BBRN @ 1.135. The same was true for N320 a lot less recoil, noise, and flash. The N320 load is 4.1gr under 124gr BBRN @ 1.135. Both the BE and N320 loads give me 129-133 PF.
I settled on the N320 load just because it was a lot cleaner. The BE load is my back up load if I run out of N230. I've also been loading up the BE load for practice to try to make the N320 last longer. They shoot interchangeable. YMMV

I have a old Limcat with a turbo-comp and 3 popple holes. Autocomp seem to shoot pretty flat for me. My load is 7.5gr under a MG HP 124gr @ 1.255-1.260 this gives me about 1380fps. The dot never leaves the C-More I get probably less that 1/4 in (6 mm) rise in the dot. I was just given 700 115gr MG HP's to see how a lighter bullet works.
I also have a ton of Power Pistol I've heard people have had good luck with that powder. The Sierra reloading manual lists loads for both 115 & 124 with Power Pistol and both just barely miss Major PF. Power Pistol is a flashy loud powder in 9 and 40. It seems to produce a ton of gas. YMMV as with all things.

Yea DO NOT start at 7.0 gr AutoComp that is a major load, Hell 7.5 gr AutoComp under 124gr MGHP gives me major in 38 super.
-
I use a small chip brush (cheap paint brush) 1 inch wide, I brush off the first station every once in a while. I also brush off the primer feed arm every 200-400 rounds.
I've never had a round fail to go BOOM with those type of impressions.

M&P Pro and Kimber Target II I use 4.2-4.3gr N320 at 1.125-1.130 and get a PF of 130 in the M&P and 132 in the Kimber. I use both Winchester and CCI primers interchangeably, the Winchester give me a little more velocity, average about 7-11fps more than the CCI's.
-
M&P Pro and Kimber Target II, both in 9mm get BB 124gr loaded with 4.1gr N320 @ 1.125-1.130. This load gives me a PF of 130 in the M&P and 133 in the Kimber. Very nice shooting.

WAIT WAIT WAIT----Did the OP say he was using Remington 6 1/2 primers?? If so, yes they are rifle primers BUT they are LOW pressure primers, they say on the box don't use in 223 and other high pressure rounds. So there's your problem.

SNS Cast or Bayou Bullets they both shoot really well out of my Limcat!!
-
With the great powder shortage of 2013-2014 I've had to hunt around for new loads for many of my guns. I was sitting on about 14lbs of Bullseye and 8lbs of Power Pistol! So for my Limcat 40 limited gun which I normally run 4.8 gr of n320 at 1.195in with SNS or Bayou Bullets 180gr TC coated bullets, I had to find a new load, I tried both Power Pistol and Bullseye. Power Pistol 6.2gr at 1.195 gave me a. PF of 169-171 but was kinda punishing to shoot. It was very snappy and loud, noticeably louder. Bullseye 4.5gr at 1.195 gave me a PF of 170-173 and was pretty soft shooting, I really like this load, it seems accurate, cycles the guns nicely, and shockingly it is pretty clean to shoot!!! Yes I said Bullseye can shoot cleanly, not as clean as n320, but a hellofa lot cleaner than using Bullseye in my 45acp! I guess the new "cleaner" Bullseye is cleaner in higher pressure rounds like the 40 than the lower pressure 45. Oh yea I prefer Winchester primers but didn't see much difference using both CCI and Remington primers(5.5's), I would use them interchangeably.

Dimon OK where do you get them????? I want some.

At the range I shoot at they have a 6X12 inch plate hanging at 100 yards. The best I've done so is 3 out of 6 with my S&W 27-2 shooting 38 Spec. I've also hit it with my 1911's in 9mm & 45acp as well as my M&P Pro 9. Some days are better than others.
CZ's have slow barrels?
in CZ

I'm so confused on this velocity thing, I've reloaded for years and have never seen a 80 fps difference from revolvers with 4 and 6 inch barrels. I guess I need two different loads, one for the CZ and one for everything else (S&W, Kimber, & Sig) even my P229 does better with it's 3.5 inch barrel.
Bummer
