I was cringing when they were putting a ball back in and tamping it down with the rod while it was loaded/cocked and there was 4F in the flashpan?
Neal in AZ
Yeah...I don't know anything about Black Powder guns but that scared me.
I would imagine your Pistol could blow up in your face while ripping up your hands and fingers pretty good if you pulled the trigger while Tamping down the powder.
Maybe Flintlocks should have Mag Disconnects on them
Only in California of course.

I've been spending some time on shooting with both eyes OPEN...no squinting/ blinking the non dominant eye etc.
First step was correcting my vision so I can see the sight.
I need reading glasses type magnification.
The Drill:
Using an Airsoft pistol....
I throw a couple of Tennis Balls (the bright color makes them easy to learn the sight picture) out in my back yard.
Stare at the target with both eyes completely open.
Push the sights into my vision plane without moving my eyes or head AT ALL and fire.
mostly shooting from Low Ready.
I've been doing 100-200 Reps at a time every day.
It's getting easy now.
Of course you can do this Dryfire but the Blowback of the Slide and the confirmation of the Hit makes using Airsoft valuable to me.

OK....
I put one +1.25 Stickon lens on my ICE Glasses.
Put it high like a reverse BiFocal.
My Sights fall right in line with the magnified Lens and looks nice and Sharp.
Reloads and gun manipulation and the area in front of me are unmagnified.
Nice.
Having only my dominant eye in focus gives me less double vision and now I am getting much better at shooting with both eyes open.
THANKS.
I see custom prescription safety glasses in my future

For ME messing with Trigger stops and shortened pretravel and adjusting Grip pressure are all just "masking" a Trigger Pull that isn't straight.
When I concentrate on how my trigger finger is interfacing with my Thumb/web against the Backstrap I get a CLEAN pull.
Then my Grip is just about sight alignment and recoil control
Now if I could just REPEAT it every time...

ATTENTION
This does NOT fit in a Comptac paddle holster.
It does fit my IWB ShieldedHolsters

If you saw the most recent elimination challenge on Topshot...
There was a mobile barricade with a Porthole to shoot through.
The barricade moved to the right and shooter followed and shot targets at various ranges.
Both shooters were trying to Shuffle step sideways. One was trying to set and get a sight picture but the wall was moving too fast.
Would it not have been better to walk with the upper body facing the targets at a bit of an angle? I was always in Marching band as a kid and we had to do that a LOT...and if you bounced the Horn would slam into your lip.
I can see Shuffling sideways to make a shot ONCE but over and over?
What's the best Lateral movement?

Push out as normal.
Consistency is your friend.
Thats what I was thinking.
I practiced both ways and learning to lift the Gun straight up without overshooting pas the line of sight or bobbling is a different skill.
It could certainly be learned but I could use plenty of work on my Draw/push out
-
Do you Push out like your Draw or lift straight up?
I feel like I should push out but lifting straight up seems faster if I don't 'overshoot'.
Thoughts?

I use CLP when I clean but use Tuf-Glide on exterior and between cleanings (I CCW)

The Dawson Spartan is hard to beat.
Will be my next non-Glock purchase

Hi Benos I have been thinking about starting yoga for quite awhile. What
type of class to take for a beginner.
thanks
be sure to visit several different types.
They can be VERY different.

Yes, that is what I have done.
I keep the side saddle loaded up with Buckshot and the Strippers are loaded up with Dummy Rounds

Got an Airsoft Innovations Propane Adapter.
They are Plastic and come with Silicone Oil and a Duster gas adapter
Got a two pack of camping stove Propane for less than $5
Works great. STINKS.
Not good for indoor shooting.

I have the Skimmer.
I think it breaks in the same place it did before with less Pretravel.
Wouldn't swear to it though
-
I don't see the point in disabling it.
Unless you plan to shoot without gripping it.
Just adjust by bending the spring.
When set right you can't miss it.
I wish that were true.... I started out shooting Glocks with a very high grip and now when I grab a SS with a grip safety and throw my thumb on top of the thumb safety I sometimes don't disengage the grip safety. I have it adjusted very light and it take very little movement, probably arounf .020 to disengage it and it is way better than it was but I still will miss it on ocasion
I had that problem on one pistol.
Flat MSH and an Ed Brown Memory GS and an adjustment and then it was 100% for me.

I'm going to give the stick on +1.25 a try. I've got a decent pair of ESE Glasses I can try them on.
-
We've got one coming up.
I'm volunteering to work it.
I'm a newb and sure I will learn from it

Going back and forth on this....
I got some cheap +1.5 Safety Glasses (full frame not Bifocal).
They flare badly in indoor range lighting so I haven't been using them.
Fine outdoors though.
When I wear them or another pair of Full frame reading glasses and shoot with both eyes open the Front sight is Sharp and almost looks like a Red Dot sight.
Far targets are of course not sharp but terribly blurry.
Has anyone tried this?
When I use non corrective safety glasses I can 'see' the front sight but can't see it Sharp.
I wear Glasses for reading and mild distance correction.
Been trying to decide I NEED prescription safety glasses.

Shot it outside at longer range.
You can plink Beer cans from 45'.
It still tends to go low and left.
Still drifting the rear sight but it doesn't want to move much
The Trigger Reset is actually very close to my Glock
The pull however is very light.
Feels a bit like when you do the "trigger reset trick" blocking the Slide out of battery with cardboard so you can do multiple Dryfire trigger pulls.
There is an easily accessible spring that I removed about five coils from and tightened up the trigger.
-
Front Sight is attached with a Phillips head Screw.
Looks like it could be changed
Rear Sight is in pretty tight.
Does not want to drift easily
-
One detail I left out.
Trigger Reset is pretty short.
Airsplat told me to Field Strip and spray all the moving parts and gaskets with Silicone and let it sit.
It did fix everything.
Slow Fire you can get through two or three mags with a Charge.
A Mag holds 20-24 depending upon if you get them loaded right (doublestack).
I turned the Hopup (Wheel on the bottom of the Barrel) I THINK up.
Fired 100 shots at a 3" Target from 20' freestyle.
It punched out a 2" diameter hole that centered 1" to the Left and 1" Down.
I have been known to shoot low and left but I think at least 50% of it is the gun.
Will try to adjust more and see.
-
Got it today.
Ordered from Airsplat and got one extra mag.
EDIT
Just noticed Black Tape on the side of the Slide covering up a very 'glock looking' G17 Logo
The weight and balance were surprisingly good (close to a real G17)
Sights are standard Glock U rear and Dot front.
Rear sight looks like a Dovetail but won't mess with that until I confirm the gun is solid.
Will also check to see if Front sight is removable.
Unfortunately, it is Railed.
Won't fit the standard Comptac holster.
It does fit my IWB ShieldedHolsters though.
SHOULD fit the Comptac Railed Glock 17 but I don't have one.
It has the Gen 3 thumb holes.
The Trigger and Slide spring are of course Light.
Out of the box mine shoots low. Muzzle covers Point of Impact at 20 feet.
Keeps good enough groups for drills.
Going to look into hopper adjustment.
It goes to Slide Lock.
Seating a mag is very light as well as the Slide release.
The Layout is accurate.
It has a fake double trigger but not distracting.
I'm having trouble with mine where sometimes I could only get two shots before running out of Gas.
Airsplat advised that I spray inside with Silicone and let it sit a few hours.
Seems to be working.
When it stabilizes I will report round count per charge.
I'll be surprised if it is much more than one mag per charge.

I finally used the Miculek today at an outdoor semi public range.
I didn't feel obnoxious using it....but then again on one side I had a guy shooting High Power and on the other side an older gentleman shooting Select Fire
