  1. Hmm, that's interesting. My buddy runs TRN Rainiers in his all day long without a hiccup. Interesting how bullet profiles can be so inconsistent from one firearm to the next.
  2. The rails look unaltered and as should in comparison with my other 10 Glocks! lol I'm actually going to check the serial number on my 24 (because I believe the slide is from an older model) to see if this fits in the problematic group. Thanks for the heads up!
  3. The extractor is not in the trigger housing. That is the ejector. Oops...I always get the two mixed up.
  4. So which magwell screw is problematic and to what degree of functioning will it affect if it is on too tight? I will just take it off today and see how it performs without. I have the three pin (two in the locking bolt) model. As mentioned, I am quite certain that it was reinstalled correctly because it was in the right place when I took it apart to clean it after shooting. Which spring are you talking about? I replaced the entire trigger housing with a known good one from a G35 so I am assuming the extractor has been ruled out. I'll be heading to the range in a couple of hours so any pointers or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!
  5. I was just wondering, think it's possible that I don't have enough of a powder charge to cycle the slide? I'm running 4.3 grains of Titegroup behind 180gr Rainier plated HP.
  6. Could you please explain? I'm trying to picture it but I'm not exactly sure how it's supposed to work.
  7. I do have a magwell. Which screw are you talking about - the one on the backstrap or the small bottom hex screw? I never heard of it deforming grips, what is the result of this? I would assume mag related issues? The extended mag spring are rather new (less than 1,000 rounds thru them). Which ones are the Dawson followers? I am using the #6 followers which are practically brand new, along with the mags. I haven't tried stock mags yet. I will bring some today and let you know how it goes. Thanks!
  8. I just measured the rounds after pushing them against my bench and they don't get any shorter. At the time, I started with a ss rod and 14lb spring then changed to the factory rod/spring thinking it would possibly fix it - neither worked. I swapped the trigger housing with a newer one from a G35 to see if changing the ejector would do anything. I'm certain that I reassembled correctly as everything was in the right place when I broke it down for cleaning at home. My buddy experienced that same problem with 'thumb-riding' so I was very cautious of thumb placement. Any other ideas? Definitely appreciate the input!
  9. I'm aware of the varying pressures. The only reason I'm loading different batches is to see what reliably feeds. Most of what was made is actually 1.13 to 1.135. Are you running an aftermarket barrel? Also, what profile MG bullets have you been running? Thanks again for all the input, fellas! I'm signed up for Limited at a couple of my first majors so I've it to get this gun runnin!...or else I'll be shooting a G34 in minor!
  10. I know, I am quite hesitant but a buddy of mine assures me that he's ran many thousands thru his kkm and sl barrels because they weren't reliable above 1.12. Cross your fingers, in hopes that I'll keep mine!
  11. What type of Rainiers were you loading (RNFP, HP, TRN) and what issues did you experience?
  12. I'm hoping it's not the bullet profile of the HPs. I've shot several thousand thru my G34 Storm Lake without issue. I really don't want to go back to RNFP - especially when i've got several thousand HPs on the shelf!
  13. I didn't get to polish but I am making a few batches tonight o take to the range tomorrow. Batches @ 1.11, 1.125, 1.135 and 1.145. I'm also going to crimp them a little more. Any advice while I'm at the range tomorrow? Hopefully I find a batch that runs!
  14. Awesome. I may just have some jewelers polish so it may be a go for tonight. I've been case gauging with a Dillon gauge and my crimps are very light. The bullets feed when they go up the center but it puzzles me how they slam in to the left of the chamber. It just doesn't make sense to me...
  15. Shoot, looks like I'll have to hold off on the polish since I don't have any compound. If I can't ind any red rouge, what other compound would you recommend?
  16. I just checked the lengths of the bullets that misfed and most were between 1.14 and 1.145. One was extremely short (maybe shortened from FTF force) and one was at 1.135. I'm going to try shortening my loads tonight and trying them tomorrow at the range. What was your max/min deviation from 1.135? Also, about how long and what speed did you polish? I might just break out the Dremel and do that tonight also. Big thanks!
  17. I've also got a glockworx extended steel guide rod with a 14lb spring but don't want to install it until I get these FTFs worked out. Any other suggestions?
  18. Did you Dremel the kkm or the factory barrel? I might just do that in the next couple of days. What COL were you loading to?
  19. Any trick to polishing the feed ramp or should I take it to a smith? I'd hate to mess it up and make it even more unreliable. Also, you're saying to leave the Hollow points and switch to RN? I never new HPs could be problematic since I've run several thousand through my G34 storm lake barrel. But if that's what I've gotta do.... I'm hoping others can chime in. Much thanks for the input!
  20. Howdy all, I'm fairly new to the site and this is my first discussion posting so please bear with me! So here's the rundown. I purchased a Glock 24 several years ago from another competitive shooter. It came with the factory barrel and a Storm Lake SS barrel. Since the day that I got it, I've been having serious problems with failure to feeds. At first, I thought that it was the SL barrel being too tight or the ramp needing to be polished for smoother feeding. After shooting a couple of matches with the stock barrel, it would still FTF about 10% of the time primarily with certain magazines (all have the +5 Dawson extensions). I ran a match this past weekend with the stock barrel and it performed 100% with only one magazine - the other three would FTF pretty consistently. Figuring that it must be the magazines, I purchased four new Glock mags with #6 followers, installed the Dawson extenders and took it to the range today. No luck, as it still FTF's about 10% of the time with ALL of the mags. Before swapping to new mags, the FTF's would just hang up on the ramp. After changing the mags, it looks like the bullets are slamming in to the left/bottom left of the chamber with the SL AND factory barrel. My question is, what could be the culprit? The extended mag springs are pretty new, the mags are brand new and the followers are new and supposedly the optimal ones to use. I'm also using a new stock glock guide rod. I'm guessing that it is maybe the OAL or HP bullet profile that is preventing it from feeding correctly. Maybe the Dawson extensions? Just looking for anyone that has experienced this and what course of action was taken? What strikes me as odd is how the bullet slams to the left of the chamber instead of being centered. Here is my load data: 180gr HP plated Rainier Ballistics with 4.3 Titegroup at 1.30 to 1.140 OAL. I've also attached a pic of the bullet getting stuck to the left of the chamber. Thanks in advance, guys. I know there is a plethora of knowledge on this forum and am hoping that y'all could lead me in the right direction. I've been wanting to get in to Limited division for quite some time but it sure isn't fun when you're malfunctioning several time per stage! Oz
