I was blown away to discover the Lyman's 49th Manual had no data for 124gr and 125gr bullets.....seriously??
I need load data for 125gr Moly round nose with W231 powder.
I tried 4.2 of W231 at 1.125 in my SA 1911 9mm and they all cycled and fired. I was really pleased with the handling. I'm new to 1911 and think once I get my grip down the recoil will be less.
It still would be nice to get some load data.
Would a slower burning powder be any good? I have an unopened pound of Titegroup I might sell because I read its too fast burning for moly bullets.
Thanks!

I couldnt get my Hornady LNL setup and then read how the dies needed to be disassembled, cleaned, and then use. I didn't have any Hornady One Shot.
I went to Home Depot and got a bottle of WD-40 to clean the dies and the a bottle of Blaster Dry Lube with PTFE
blastergroup.com.au/dry-teflon-lube.html
All worked really well!
What spray lubes do you use on your cases, press, slide etc?
One Shot sounds good because it evaporates. I read a post on here where someone mixed rubbing alcohol with lanolin oil for his cases. Sounds interesting.
I dont have a compressor to blow air so something that cleans and evaporates would be nice.
THanks

Don't hate me I started reloading on a progressive It was a deal on Craigslist with basically the case feeder for free, couldnt pass it up.
I've loaded about 30rds of 9mm. Use Winchester 231 and 4.4grn with 125g bullets. Using a Hornady Lock n Load
1)I weighed the completed rounds and they vary about .5 - 1 grain, this normal?
2) I've noticed a line about 1/16 down on the nose of each bullet, very minor but its there. It took a while but I have the crimp/seat die set. I was freaking out because it's not a TAPER crimp like I've read it preferred but its whats included in the Hornady 9mm die set. I may use my empty station for a taper crimp later.
3) Sometimes a primer wont slide in. I think I'll polish and clean the area. The press was used for 38 special before I bought it.
4) The completed round seems to catch when it exits the seat/crimp die. If I go at a normal speed its not detectable.
5) How hard or smooth should the de-priming be?
I used non-tumbled, cleaned or lubed brass of that makes a difference.
Thanks for the info!
$700 used SLP or $650 new 930 JM?

I can't decide.
I'm leaning toward the 930 JM as a 28" aftermarket barrel is sub $180 where a 28" for the SLP is $300+. If I wanted to shoot trap for fun.
A local shop has the JM 930 for $699. I'm sure they'd take $650, so tax and DROS is under $750.
A used FN SLP is good hour drive away and being sold for $700 with 200 rounds down the pipe so $735.
What do you think is the better deal? I plan on getting into 3gun matches. I also plan on selling my Mossberg 500 so either shotgun will also be home defense.
Thanks in advance.
