1. Your homeowners and auto policy have an upper limit as to what they cover. The umbrella policy has a lower limit where it picks up the homeowners and auto. There cannot be an uncovered gap between the two. So in some cases you can lower the limit on the umbrella to meet, and in some cases you have to raise the upper limit on the auto and home to meet the lower limit on the umbrella.

    Okey-Dokey!

  2. I tried my Blade-Tech holster for Kimber Compact (commander size) and Dillon 1.5" heavy duty leather belt and was pretty certain it would pass the "no sunshine" test, as belt loop narrows in front to closely hug belt.

Also pretty certain my Sooper Hooper will not pass the "no sunshine" test.

    Thanks Mike!

  3. Actually, on a positive note, during my dry fire practice this morning, I had a chance to really inspect both my Blade-Tech and Sooper Hooper holster. Without a doubt, the Sooper Hooper allows one to see DAYLIGHT, however, my newer Blade-Tech absoluteley narrows down the belt loop to a size were DAYLIGHT cannot be seen.

So . . . thanks to the Blade-Tech people for anticpating a not yet projected but IDPA created problem (no bash intended).

  4. "If you look through the belt slot area of the holster with it on the belt/body, you should not be able to see any daylight. If you can see through this belt tunnel area, the holster is not approved."

So my brand new Blade Tech and Dave Elderton Kytac SooperHooper Kydex holsters have been outlawed!

    UNBELIEVABLE

  5. The system is about 6 years old. I wiped and reloaded Windows and the Update without any improvement. I'm sure I'll just remove the machine and replace it rather than go the Linux route where I have no experience at all. Mom would use it for email and word processing (MS Office loaded), and sometimes surfing the web on match.com looking for a 70 year old hottie to keep her company. Just so wierd how it seems to load up perfectly, then right before going to desktop . . . BLINK and out with no recovery. I thought maybe it was overheating, but fans, etc. seem to be working. Will probably try to donate it to charity with a disclaimer and replace it.

  6. My office refurbished lots of LAN used computers and offered them for sale. Brought one home and gave it to my Mom who is computer phobic, rather than just using MYMAILSTATION.COM. Worked fine for a couple of weeks, then during the typical booting up process in Windows 98, shows me the clouds background, then blinks out. Any idea what is going on here? Should I stop being a cheap $hit and just buy her a brand new machine (that she will probably never use)?

  7. Have shot in several matches where a black pistol was stenciled onto a fully exposed target. In one case, I believe it was simply to identify a bad guy. In the PA State Championship, a rifle was stenciled on a target and it was considered hard cover and resulted in a miss if shot. Did I miss something in the rules that specifies how these stencils getting shot, are to be counted?

  8. Was there yesterday for IDPA Safety Officer Training: If you are shooting a semi-auto, you must wear a cap with brim (to prevent ejected brass from hitting you in your eyes). They even have neat, white "painter" style caps available if you didn't bring your own.

Very valuable training session (for any shooting discipline) tought by terrific instructors, if you ever get the chance.

  9. Here in the greater Northeast part of the US of A, the general rules of engagement before any type of weapon is brandished, is "an immediate and unavoidable grave physical threat to an innocent".

Although I'm sure this was not a pleasant experience and that I would have reacted in a similiar fashion, these obnoxious pains in the neck are not why we carry a weapon, concealed or otherwise.

    Just my opinion.

  10. Charlie was kind enough to answer my questions as follows:

"I talked to a FFL last night and most likely will be back in business in a couple of weeks, but I'm going to start with customers that have been waiting patiently for me and I have "several" lined up now."

    I can't wait!
