  1. 7.3.2.3 All Rifle magazines must be of a thirty (30) round factory configuration and must not exceed the original factory produced length. There is no maximum capacity, as long as it is a factory 30 round magazine. Use of lower capacity magazines is allowed. The use of factory or aftermarket extended base pads, whether they increase capacity or not, are forbidden. The downloading of 50 /60 round drum magazines is not allowed. However, the use of magazine couplers that replace the floor plates and do not add length are allowed.

The bold print - are they just referring to allowing aftermarket followers and springs for increased capacity or is there something else I'm missing? Thanks in advance.

  2. If it appeared as if i was only blaming the gun, i apologize. I was not. I was only asking for assistance with a problem i was having and thought this was a good place for it. And for the record, you guys were correct. I put another 100 rounds through it yesterday. This time, Federal 2 3/4dr, 1 1/8 oz, 8 shot without any hiccup whatsoever. Thank you for the advice. I am very happy with this shotgun and was only looking for a little help. Thanks.

  3. Help.

Second trip to the range with my new 24" 1301. 100 rounds of WWB 2 3/4 dram, 1 oz, 8 shot. Had approximately 20 FTF's during the session. It was well lubed. When I physcally work the action, I seem to feel a lot of resistance at the point in the cycle where the bolt engages the lifter. Not sure if that is normal but compared to my Xtrema II, it feels significantly greater. Any ideas?

  4. Thx Trpr. I ordered a Carlson LM & IM thinking I can run either w/o slugs. Got it Friday, lubed it up, took it to the range this morning. First box of Fed 3dr, 1 1/8, 7.5 shot had FTF every round. After that, ran like a top with 3 different loads. slugs spot on also at 50 yards. No chance to print on paper. Just steel silhouette.

  5. I've been loading quads off Taccom qualoads, which are good kit, for a while. yesterday ran quad loads off straight eights from IP. Immediately ordered another. No issues disturbing the 2nd grab shells on the first grab. lighter, more compact, and no need to roll the shells out from the top end. just grab and go. the row where the delrin bites the hull instead of the brass needs a little tightening with heat but thats it. extremely well made and Kevin seems to be truly customer oriented.

  6. "8.2.1.3.1. Sights may be changed to another notch and post type but slides may not be machined to accept different style sights in SSP. "

The Target still has notch and post sights. What does it mean by "machined to accept different STYLE sights" ? Does that mean a style other than notch and post? Or does it mean any machining of the slide at all?

  7. Don't want to hijack but just a thought in regard to what justuate is alluding to. What about the shooter's sponsor? Do you think they would condone this kind of behavior to represent their corporation? That was my first thought last year when I personally watched a very-well known shooter, sponsored by one of the biggest manufacturers, condone verbally belittling a beginning shooter on a relatively difficult stage. I lost all respect for the shooter AND the company in that moment and would think twice before buying their product just because of that incident.

  8. Midway also makes a good drag bag (can't remember the length) that holds everything but ammo. I think it was somewhere around $70. Very well made except the zipper pulls. They come off immediately. I just ran 550 cord through all the zippers and works like a champ.

  9. This weekend shooting 3 gun, my Xtremea II wouldn't run Winchester AA 7 1/2 shot running at 1145 fps. Once I put Federals running at 1200 fps, it ran fine. I had cleaned it and lubed it right before the stage so it wasn't dirty. Does Beretta make lighter recoil springs for the Xtrema?
