  1. Without the rail. And yesterday I shoved the Match into my old SASS Huckleberry shoulder rig, and that one fits too. Will take a small add on to secure the pistol, but I think this will be my choice for "boonie stompin'" Like finding a old girl friend that still fits. LOL!
  2. Thanks for the ideas. This one already had the Springco buffer on board, so I lucked out.
  3. I just picked up the "Match" yesterday, after some lengthy research, and input from three xlnt gunsmiths in as many states. One of my questions, so far, is can this gun be converted to fire other calibers. Seems to me I saw a video somewhere that discussed that possiblity. If so, what do I need to pick up in order to shoot .40 S&W, and 9mm? Thanks for any guidance you can provide. Jerry
  4. I live in the mountains north of Boise, Idaho where I shoot at a decent local range about once every 1-2 weeks. I am primarily a hand-gunner, although I get into Black Rifles as well. I'm retired LE, with 46 years of hand gun experience, as student and instructor, and I've worked behind the counter in gun shops in the southwest and here in Idaho. I don't know it all, for sure, and enjoy learning new things regarding firearms of any type. I do NOT get along well with "experts" who have gained their "knowledge" from the internet, magazines, TV and movies, or 2nd hand from friends, relatives, or untrained people in general. I value highly anyone with hands on experience. I've probably sold enough personal weapons in my lifetime, to pay for divorces, weddings, tuition, medical bills, dental stuff, vacations, KIDS, etc., to stock the average Cabella's counter. I HATE that, 'cause I've owned some really XLNT pieces that I'll never be able to replace. During the wheel gun days of my career, I chose the Colt Python as my duty weapon, in various configurations. My first was a replacement for my issue K-38 two weeks after the first Watts riots. A 6" Python carried in Safariland leather. Paid under $300 for it, brand-spanking new. My first pistol for duty was a Browning Hi Power, circa 1974. I currently have Sig, Para, Browning, Ruger, and Tanfoglio handguns in the "locker", and my daily CCW alternates through the Sigs, Para, and Browning, which helps me keep in tune with each of them ergonomically. I alternate about once a month, and thoroughly clean and inspect them when I change, fired or not. I also play electric guitar, wear trifocals, read like crazy, and stomp in the forest a lot. 5 kids (grown up more or less)and my 20th grand child was born last week, in Portland, Oregon. My only son is a supervisor for the Border Patrol (13 years) and is currently working in the Ajo area of Arizona which is a serious battle zone. Hottest area he's worked during his entire career. As a retired Arizona LEO, with a BP son, don't get me started about the southern border unless you want to listen for awhile. Oh yeah, I'm handsome, wise beyond belief, and in shape just like when I was twenty five. (If you believe that, I have a super rare, custom Raven .22 pistol for sale. Only $1200, so I can buy another Python. ) - Jerry
  5. XLNT response, and I can't think of anything you've overlooked. I have a compact P250 in .40, and it works for me. First time I fired it, I was totally surprised at how well I did with it, and even the long pull didn't get in my way. I have close to double the rounds through mine that you've fired, all since December of 2010, and I carry it CCW, alternating with two other CCW weapons about once a month. That keeps me in tune with all of them, ergonomically. One last remark, then I'll get out of the way: I've been carrying handguns of various types, makes, and models daily since 1965. I've been trained, given training, and I now shoot weekly since I'm retired, as opposed to quarterly for "qualification". Any gun that takes "thousands" of rounds to break in, get used to, or whatever, is NOT a gun I will use for duty or personal defense. If the bugs aren't worked out by 800-1000 rounds, or if it just doesn't work for the person shooting it, then its junk and should be liquidated. I form my opinion of a weapon from personal, hands-on time with the piece, and not from "my cousins, brothers, uncle's friends" comments, about what they read in a magazine or on the net. For me, the P250 works. If other's don't like it....., oh well. I'm a shooter. Not an Evangelist.
  6. I have a Witness Match 10mm. Tonight I was going through two drawers full of old holsters, trying the Match in ones that looked like they might fit. Guess what? The Glock belt slide, a $12 holster, fit the Match to a T. 'Bout dropped my socks! Will work great for range carry, and it's a "no mar" too.
