For those who have been asking and talking about the Mark7 650Pro Auto-drive thought I'd share a video I took today loading 9mm ammo. This is a preproduction machine.
I hope to switch over to 223 tomorrow - if so I will post another video..

The Rules committee has been updating the rules and Random draw will be allowed for the Worlds. If shooting 2 Divisions, the Open gun must be shot before Limited...that will not change.
Are competitors that are shooting two guns allowed to shoot back to back?
-
Nope, no rule against it. In fact the PCC Appendix specifically permits it (http://steelchallenge.com/PCC%20Appendix%20for%20WSSC_DNROI.pdf)
Thanks Zach - I missed that when I read that Appendix.
I am acting as MD at Saturday's SC match and wanted to be sure..
I assume it's ok for Rimfire Rifle if a competitor choose to use?
-
Does anyone know if there is a ruling against the use of rifle slings in Steel Challenge for rifle (Rimfire or PCC)?

Application is in this thread http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=223993&p=2634654

Hi Guys,
I have no affiliation with the match.
Thought I'd post this here for those looking...
-
yes something is off
i took it apart clean and lubed it. i will see how it goes . seems like i get more then my share of primer slide jams
Have you looked at or changed out the plastic end of the Primer Magazine tube? Also check the Slide Roll Pin sleeve - if it's the rubber type and worn that can cause problems.

I am doing some research on Seating/Crimp dies used on a Progressive Press (Dillon 650+1050).
I know most everyone agrees doing seating and crimping at two stations is best.
For this discusion two stations are not an option.
This would be for both pistol and rifle.
For those of you that have or are using a Crimp/Seater die (at one station) - Which work best? Which to stay away from?
Redding, Hornady, Lee, ?
Thanks in advance.

Just an FYI.
For those looking Mark7 has the Pal Filler in stock..

I was just reading the Minutes and thought I'd share this here...
Minutes from the USPSA BOD meetings January 23-24, 2016.
Agenda Item: Steel Challenge classification system and rule update
Motion: The Board discussed Steel Challenge Shooting Association and found consensus on two positions: One that the 8 official Steel Challenge stages have value which should be protected in order to support the SCSA brand, but two, the sole use of those stages should not be viewed as a barrier for SCSA activity. SCSA-affiliated clubs may develop their own stages for use at Tier-1 SCSA matches as long as at least two official SC stages are included in the match.
Moved: A1 Seconded: A3 PASSED

So you folks that are using the RF100...
Are experiencing many flipped primers?
I had an RF100 that had a rheostat dimmer and I was getting 1 to 2 flipped primers per 100-200 primers.
I also currently have an Ammo-Load primer filler with a built in speed adjustment and still get flipped primers.
I typically use only Winchester and federal small primers.
To avoid the flipped primers I went to the PAL.
-
Another vote for the PAL. He has a FBook page. Here's a stand I made for mine. Makes dumping in the primers easier..

Interesting website - Ballistics by the inch..

I've been using Chrono Log for a couple weeks.
I like the ease of use but I don't like how the log organizes or how the reports are exported.
I just put excel on my iPhone and iPad and will use Drop box or my Cloud to sync.

peterthefish, thanks for the info..

How dare you bring actual measured data into a internet discussion???I have been curious as to Carbine velocities vs. pistol so I did some load testing yesterday.
Temp was about 57 degrees.
Thanks for the work! Can you describe the open gun? Does it have popple holes? If so, how much barrel before the holes?
Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas!
Schuemann Classic with three port comp. no popples.

I enjoyed this series - I think "Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds" do the music.

How old is the brass? For the decapper to be punching through like that it seems possible the brass is weakened.
No Idea.. Range I got it from said some of the brass was in boxes for 10+ years.
Clutch is set at "0" and has been catching the berdan cases..

Scott,
I got the App last night and looks like it has potential - need to see how the Dropbox works to since iPhone and iPad.
Thanks for the lead..
-
Trying to stay away from the Excel route. Looking for something idiot proof that easy to use and keeps a database of what I've loaded and for which pistols.
Scott I may shoot you a message...and that Chronograph Log looks like it has potential - I'll try that one for starters..
Thanks for everyones input..

Well, if your machine is set so it has enough power to punch a new hole in the case, sooner or later it is going to break the pin. Then the next stroke it will swage the spent primer that didn't get removed and it is obviously not sensitive enough to feel the extra force required. Then it will move to the priming station and try and put two primers into the same hole.
If your lucky it won't light any off.
I agree - pin will break - I have broken and bent many in the past.
I did some testing yesterday and with the machine's digital clutch set at "0" and using the berdan brass - the machine does sense the lack of a flash hole and stops.
I had it set at "1" and running it at 1,500 rph and at that setting it does punch a hole and deprime.
I have/had no intention of trying to use the Berdan primed brass - I was inquiring for the few that might have gotten thru the complete loading process.
Thanks for everyones input..
-
So I have piles and piles of paper with reloading loading data.
I have several Excel Spreadsheets that I've used in the past - but nothing that organizes it the way I want.
Looking up old data has been a chore.
Are there any iPhone or iPad Reloading Data apps out there that works well?
If you write apps and want a project let me know :-)
Thanks in advance.

Something to be said for the strength of the de-priming pin, for sure!
I was about to say the same thing. What die and pin are you using Pmd?
