  1. As I watched on Liveshots. Two men, a man overweight and 54 (I think)TGO and Mr. Wolfe, a young man, (in good shape) age is a ?, shoot stage 13. I wonder to myself? How does Rob win? Even when things don't go as planed.

I think I know, It's a passion to be the best and practice. Maybe, it is that Rob is always in the moment? Be it shooting or lunch!

My hat is off for you Sir! Nice shooting!

  2. You may be right about the 6 major Smitty

But, If growing the division is the goal we need to consider allowing the following. Open major 8, Minor 8, Major 6, Minor 6 as well as mooned and un-mooned as classes within revolver. Than no matter what revo a person has they could compete. And

The division's national match has to stay separate from all others to survive. Wouldn't you think?

What a great job they did with the match!

Squad 3 was great fun! we had a lot of laughs, well maybe it was more guffawing ----

  3. I have a 627 in 38 super. With the .335 bullets I have taken a 9mm sizing die and run the case up a 3/8 of an inch or so to down size it. Then load as usual. You can do that with a .356 bullet also. This adds tension to the bullet without a heavy crimp. Just an idea---

  4. I can tell you that out here in the southwest, Mesa, AZ area, the revolver has seen an increase in the numbers.........I, for one, never shot Revo, and I started the IPSC/USPSA thing back in 1988, and a few months ago, bought a 627 from a friend just so I could shoot Revo in USPSA because of the 8 round minor rule. I have started to shoot some ICORE with it, and recently bought a 625 for the IDPA ESR division. I just want to get better with the Revo. I run a single stack 1911 match out here every year, this was year 12, and last year we added a Revo day to the match.....granted those shooters shot with the Staff on Friday, but I capped the Revolver shooters at 30 and I could have easily had 50+..........this year we did the same thing and I capped it at 50 and could have had 80-90 shooters. We had a lot of cross over shooters, IDPA and ICORE guys come and shoot, and no one had any negative things to say.........probably because they knew going in it was primarily a Single Stack match. I will say it was an advantage to the 8 shot gun, because of stage design. We plan to do the same thing next year, but my hope is that we make the Revo part of the match a toss up for the 6 vs. 8 shot shooter.........I talked with Rich Wolfe and Mike Carmoney a bit about this at the match, since I consider myself a rookie Revo guy, and both said that is hard to do, but not impossible.

I have noticed, out here in our area anyway, that we get a lot of new shooters shooting our Tuesday steel match with whatever gun they might have owned, Glock, XD, M&P, Sig,or Single Stack, cool guy guns, etc, and they spend some time with that, and then move up to either Open, or Limited and spend a ton of money on those guns, because they want to be the fastest shooter out there, and see there name at the top of the combined scores. We have a lot of GM's out here, but only a few that you will see in the top 10 at Nationals.....we shoot so many classifers that that is bound to happen.......to me, the Open gun vs. the 8 shot revo is not really all that different........except the money put out for the gun and equipment. Of course, the Open gun is really only good for one thing.......USPSA/IPSC and going really fast, which is great! I never get into the us verses them argument.....to many want to take away our guns........I don't care what you shoot........just get out there and shoot!!!!!

Anyway, I would bet money that we will see an upsurge of Revo shooters over the next few years, at least in Phoenix, AZ area we will.

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

Please save me a spot for Revo and SS for the next WSSSSSSSSC its a great match!

    Thanks

  5. You have the choice to change to major or minor or to what ever other division you want before you fire your first round. Nothing on the sign up sheet is written in stone. Your declaration means nothing, really, unless the crono breaks or is not used for some reason before you shoot your ammo through it. Than whatever your declaration is that stands for the match. If you shot and your ammo didn't make it or was sub-minor that also would stand as long as the crono was calibrated before you shot. This just happened at the FL Open.

You could take your (minor) 8 shooter to the first stage and fire your first round and up to six rounds, than decide to change guns (if its first ok'ed by the RM) to your six shooter. You of course would still be shooting minor for the entire match. If you started with your six shooter than changed your mind, mid-match or (had a break down) and (if its first ok'ed by the RM) you could change to your 8 shooter. Than, you would if you had crono'ed already be required before the end of the match to crono again with the new gun, vis-a-vis if you please.

I wonder how many people will walk the stages in the morning to find out which to shoot 6/8? Will they than go change their category?

I really don't think you have to tell the stat's people anything at all. When you crono, they will change it to whatever you are major, minor or sub-minor if your unlucky, from the score sheet turned into them by the crono stage.

    If I'm wrong please advise.

  6. Hi Guys, I think, maybe not, so I won't offend, Hi Gals also,

Wow did this take off from my question. I hope all of you replied with what you are going to shoot.

Other than that it is a great discussion. My two cents are, what ever gets the head count up. Also, I like shooting revo, if it takes an 8 shot to be competitive I'll get one. One other aspect I like is no one really knows which one will be the best choice. One other thing, I hope this is not the last Revo Nats. Its going to be my second and it is a BLAST.

OH! I know that there are at least two more guys from MN going that did not go last year. Great News!
