When they arrive, I'll let you know.

I've just ordered the TruGlo Gobble Dots (1/4").

24 or 26 done
Right... well that's, that decision made. Out of my two options, 24" it is!

This topic is well covered in the Magpul Dynamics 'Art Of The Shotgun' DVD (Chris Costa & Travis Haley). Although these training videos are very "tactical" oriented, I've also got some great tips for competition from them as well.

I used to have a Mossberg 930 SPX shotgun, which had an 18.5" barrel. It was an excellent starter shotgun and it ran very well (contrary to reports). However it's time to get something else.
I'm torn between a 22" barrel and a 24" barrel.The 18.5" on the SPX was definitely too short and I feel that the benefit a 26" barrel might give (over a 24") would be marginal at best.
I'm leaning towards 24" myself, but keen on what others here thought.

Seems that the HiViz 4-in-1 or the TruGlo Gobble Dot could be the way to go? -
Recently got married. Both my partner and I shoot, so we wanted something at the wedding, which was firearm related, but subtle and "in keeping" with the rest of the day... why not the cake... utilizing a "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" cake topper and .45ACP brass.
Sharing these photos as, when we were looking for ideas, it was tough to find anything. -
Hi All,
I have a Mossberg 930 SPX. Generally speaking it's been running pretty well. I have mainly used heavier loads in it and it runs fine, however I now want to start using some lighter loads (#7.5, 28gm) for competition and I find that it does not cycle them as consistently as the heavier rounds.
I'm also looking at having the Shell Carrier welded up, for the usual reasons. What are some of the other things I should be getting my gunsmith to do to assist with competition and reliability?
Regards,
Bucko.

I was considering ordering a tuned STI Edge off Brazos myself. Really? A year wait? *damn* Perhaps I should get my order in now! What sort of deposit did to have to make or was the whole price up front?

I've been trying to get the Mossberg distributor here in New Zealand to get me some in. The problem is that Mossberg don't want to ship the lifter - they want to ship the entire mechanisim, which is not what I want. I suspect other gunmsiths and distributors will be having the same/similar issue.

Okay, now I'm done with it.
I tried some Benelli and Some Mossberg speedloaders, both seem to work about the same.
The chute is on there very solid. I ended up using the screw supplied with the Mossberg speedloader on the rear of my fabricated mount.
Hi Spencerhut,
Just to clarify, you are using an 'Arredondo Speed Loader Assist', but for the Benelli, on your Mossberg 930? And the only thing you needed to do, to get this to work was:
- Used some longer housing pins.
- Used some spacers.
- Filed a little off the back of the chute, where it touches the trigger guard.
Correct? I assume the 'Arredondo' brand speed loaders would work ok with this setup?

Hi Phil,
Did you ever find an answer to your query, regarding the Mossberg 930?

Just out of interest, based on the feedback received on the 'Global Village' forum, the final recommendation to go to the General Assembly will be a 2kg DA Trigger and a 1kg SA Trigger.
2kg = 4.4lbs
1kg = 2.2lbs

Hi All,
The goal and ethos of Production Division was that it shouldn't be an "equipment race" - that one platform shouldn't dominate the division.
Originally it was the Tanfoglio's and their big magwells, the rules were changed and the playing field evened up. Then Sig came out with their 21 round capacity, the rules were changed again imposing the 15 round rule and the playing field was evened up. This is just another example of that.
Regardless of your position on this matter, please log into the 'Global Village' and voice your comments there.
Cheers,

For those IPSC Production shooters who frequent the 'Global Village' official IPSC forums, you will probably be aware of the following proposed changes to the 2012 rulebook:
* * * * * *
Minimum Double Action Trigger Pull Weight: Reduced from 5lbs to 4lbs.
The reason is there are many striker-fired guns which are emminently suitable for PD but, in their standard, off-the-shelf configuration, they have trigger pulls precariously close to the existing 5lb limit. This has become evident at the numerous in-match Gun Checks we've conducted over the past 5 years. The lower limit will provide a better comfort zone.
* * * * * *
Minimum Single Action Trigger Pull Weight: To Be Introduced at 3lbs.
There are a few reasons for the additional test for SA/DA guns. Firstly, this is a simple way to keep people honest in respect of trigger jobs. For those who've cited "unenforceability" of the prohibition against the installation of aftermarket internal parts, mostly geared towards achieving lower SA trigger pulls, this is a simple and definitive go/no-go test. We also believe, after conducting due diligence that 3lbs is the correct poundage.
Another reason is that it will further level the playing field between SF and DA/SA guns. At a major match with 30 stages, guys using SA/DA guns only need to fire a DA shot a maximum of 30 times, whereas guys using striker-fired guns need to do so for every round, typically 500 or more times.

Many CZ owners, who compete in this Division have probably made some minor changes to their pistols, which are currently permitted under the current IPSC Handgun Rulebook. Myself, I have changed my main spring and recoil spring to lighter ones as well as swapped out the standard hammer for the Combat model - all things to give you a crisper DA trigger pull.
Many CZ owners are finding that with these permitted changes, their SA trigger pull will not meet this new SA weight requirement, if it gets passed at the at the 2011 Assembly in Greece.
What Should I Do?
There are two things you should do if you shoot in this Division:
1) Knowledge is power and we need accurate and unbiased data on how this rule change will effect current shooters in this Division. Please, measure both your DA and SA trigger pull weights, log into the 'Global Village' and post the results of your test (along with a brief profile of your pistol - you'll see some examples on the thread already) into the main thread for this issue. As a new'ish member to these forums I am not permitted to post URL's however you will find it in the 'IPSC RULES & REGULATIONS > IPSC Handgun Rules > PRODUCTION DIVISION' section.
2) Formulate your own opinion on this proposed rule change - either FOR or AGAINST - and communicate your thoughts to your IPSC Regional Director, without delay (as the 2011 Assembly isn't far away!)

Due to the handgun laws in Australia and I think Denmark, models of the SP-01 Shadow are made with a slightly longer barrel - it think it's 0.25" or 0.50".
Other than that is just the same SP-01 Shadow.
There is a specific mention of this in the IPSC Production Gun List.

Hi,
I'm a newbie here... just finished loading my first batch of ammo. Don't ask why, but I have a number of cases that have had the primer replaced, but still need the remainder of the process performed to complete.
I want to remove all of the live primers from the primer tube, so I can load up these partly prepared cases, without wasting primers.
Any instructions would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Todd.

Although I said I ordered the 1/4" set in an earlier post, what I actually ordered was the 3/8" [TG944B] set, which as it turns out is the correct set for the rib on Mossberg barrels. Fits like a glove. It will be interesting to see how they "stay in position" overtime, however they are a nice looking sight.
